Coming in for 4 nights April 8-12th. Right now I have the Best Western Plus booked but I just saw the Hyatt Place for about the same amount when you include parking at the BW+. Going to explore the area and want to be close to Old Town. Which do you recommend?
Both the Best Western Plus Sundial and the Hyatt Place Scottsdale/Old Town are solid choices, but they offer slightly different experiences, particularly regarding location, amenities, and overall vibe.
Best Western Plus Sundial:
The Best Western Plus is a reliable mid-range option with comfortable rooms, a pool, and basic amenities. It tends to offer free parking and sometimes complimentary breakfast, which can be convenient. However, it is slightly farther from the heart of Old Town Scottsdale compared to the Hyatt Place, so you may need to walk a bit more or use a short drive/rideshare to reach the main shopping, dining, and nightlife areas.
Hyatt Place Scottsdale/Old Town:
The Hyatt Place is closer to the core of Old Town Scottsdale, making it more convenient for exploring galleries, restaurants, and shops on foot. The property is modern, often with a more stylish lobby and common areas, and typically features spacious rooms with separate living areas. Parking may be paid or limited, but being close to the action can save on transportation. The pool and amenities are well-maintained, and it provides a slightly more upscale experience than a Best Western.
Key considerations:
Overall, if your main goal is to explore Old Town Scottsdale and be within easy walking distance of the area’s highlights, the Hyatt Place Scottsdale/Old Town is the better choice. If having free parking and a more traditional, straightforward hotel experience is important, then the Best Western Plus Sundial is a solid option.
