1 bedroom suites
Hi
We are travelling to San Diego in April likely 14 - 18th. I am looking for a hotel with a separate bedroom for the children or they could sleep in the living room. Ideally 1 king bedroom and 2 queen beds but they could share if needed.
Does anyone have a recommendation of hotels with a pool.
Looking at $300 a night if possible.
We will have a car so can drive into the city if needed.
For a family visiting San Diego in April, finding a suite with separate sleeping areas and a pool is a great idea. Since you’ll have a car, you can consider options both in the city and slightly outside, giving more flexibility and potentially better rates.
Here are some hotel options that offer 1-bedroom suites or similar configurations suitable for families:
- Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego/Bayside – Offers one-bedroom suites with a separate bedroom and living area with sofa beds. Amenities include a pool, free breakfast, and a kitchenette for convenience.
- Residence Inn by Marriott San Diego Downtown/Gaslamp Quarter – Features suites with separate bedrooms and living areas. Pools are available, and kitchens are included, making it easy for family meals. Close to downtown attractions.
- Embassy Suites by Hilton San Diego Bay Downtown – Offers two-room suites with a separate bedroom and living area. Includes a pool, complimentary breakfast, and evening reception. Centrally located near the waterfront.
- Home2 Suites by Hilton San Diego/Del Mar – One-bedroom suites with separate sleeping spaces and sofa beds, pool access, and kitchenettes. Slightly north of downtown but convenient with a car.
Other considerations:
- Check the bedding arrangements carefully – many hotels offer a king bed in the main room and sofa beds or two queens in the living area, which can work for your family of four.
- April is spring break, so rates may fluctuate. Booking early increases the likelihood of securing suites within your $300/night budget.
- Having a car gives you the flexibility to stay slightly outside the busiest areas, where rates might be better and pools less crowded.
- Look for hotels that include breakfast – it saves time in the morning, especially with kids.
Overall, the best approach is to prioritize separate sleeping areas for comfort, a pool for downtime, and proximity to the city or attractions you plan to visit. Hotels like Homewood Suites, Residence Inn, or Embassy Suites should meet these needs well within your budget.
