Hotel / accommodation convenient for Ball arena?
Hi all,
We are a group of four travelling to Colorado later this year and have an event at ball arena.
Can anyone offer any advice on a good location to stay at, that would be convenient for the area? We only stay two nights in Denver, then move on to various other areas of the state afterwards.
TIA.
If you have an event at Ball Arena in Denver and are staying only two nights, the most convenient accommodation would be downtown or nearby neighborhoods with easy access to the arena either by walking, rideshare, or public transit. Ball Arena is located just west of downtown, so staying in the central area minimizes travel stress and gives you flexibility to explore the city briefly if you like.
Recommended areas to consider:
- Downtown Denver / LoDo (Lower Downtown): Walking distance to Ball Arena (about 10–15 minutes), plus plenty of restaurants, bars, and cafes nearby. Great for nightlife before or after the event.
- Union Station Area: Slightly northeast of the arena, about a 10–15 minute walk. Central hub for public transportation, which makes arrival and departure easier if you’re coming from or going to the airport or other parts of the city.
- LoHi (Lower Highlands): Trendy neighborhood just north of Ball Arena. A bit quieter than LoDo but still within easy walking distance. Good option if you prefer boutique hotels or Airbnb-style stays.
Hotel suggestions by convenience and proximity:
- Hyatt House Denver / Hyatt Place – near LoDo, convenient walking distance.
- The Crawford Hotel – right inside Union Station, stylish, and central.
- Renaissance Denver Downtown City Center – a few blocks from Ball Arena, modern amenities.
- Hilton Garden Inn Downtown / Holiday Inn Express – within 10–15 minute walk to arena, reliable comfort.
Tips for your stay:
- Book early — downtown Denver hotels fill up quickly around event weekends.
- If the event is on a weekend, walking or using rideshare may be faster than driving due to limited parking and traffic congestion near the arena.
- Consider checking if the hotel offers shuttle service to the arena; some downtown hotels provide this for special events.
- Parking can be expensive downtown; if driving, look for garages nearby with pre-booked rates to avoid surprises.
Overall, staying within downtown Denver or LoDo will give you the easiest access to Ball Arena, keep your group together, and allow for a short, stress-free walk to the event without worrying about traffic.
