Best Quiet Beach Area

Hello! My husband and I are planning a very last minute trip to Ft Lauderdale next week. We’re not too familiar with the area, so would love some suggestions. We would like somewhere quieter, beachside or close, with some restaurants and or grocery close by, as we will likely uber from the airport. A medium size facility would be preferable, maybe with a pool, and beach access. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

If you’re looking for a quieter beach area in Fort Lauderdale for a last-minute trip, there are several neighborhoods and resorts that fit the bill. Since you want easy access to restaurants and groceries, as well as Uber convenience, here are some considerations:

Recommended Quieter Beach Areas:

  • Lauderdale-by-the-Sea: A charming small beach town just north of Fort Lauderdale. Very walkable with local restaurants, cafes, and a grocery store nearby. The beach is less crowded than central Fort Lauderdale. Many boutique hotels and mid-sized resorts have beach access and pools.
  • Harbor Beach / Middle Beach: Slightly south of central Fort Lauderdale. Offers more secluded beaches and larger resort-style accommodations. Less foot traffic compared to the main Fort Lauderdale Beach strip. A few restaurants and small grocery options nearby.
  • North Beach (Fort Lauderdale): The area north of Sunrise Boulevard tends to be quieter, with a mix of smaller condos, boutique hotels, and public beach access. Uber rides to restaurants and stores are quick and easy.

Mid-Sized Facilities with Pool & Beach Access:

  • Sea Club Resort: Located in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, offers direct beach access and a pool, moderate size, very quiet.
  • Pelican Grand Beach Resort: On the south end of Fort Lauderdale Beach, mid-sized resort with pool, private beach, and a relaxed atmosphere. Restaurants and small shops are nearby.
  • Ocean Manor Beach Resort: Smaller property in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, right on the beach with a pool. Walkable to local dining and grocery stores.
  • Beach Terrace Inn: Boutique-style property in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, quiet beachside location, pool, very manageable size and casual atmosphere.

Additional Tips:

  • For a last-minute trip, booking through major hotel booking sites or apps like Expedia, Booking.com, or VRBO for condos can help you secure availability quickly.
  • Uber or Lyft will be the easiest way to explore the area or go to larger grocery stores or nearby attractions, as some quiet areas have limited local transport options.
  • Lauderdale-by-the-Sea is particularly recommended if you want a mix of quiet, walkable access to restaurants, and a pleasant beach without the crowds.

Overall, for a tranquil beach trip with moderate-sized accommodations and easy access to amenities, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and the northern parts of Fort Lauderdale Beach are excellent choices. These areas allow you to enjoy the sun and sand while still having nearby conveniences.
