Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge VIP Experience
Hello. Is there such a thing, and has anyone done it?
We will be in the area for only one day, and we would love to visit just the Star Wars related attractions since we have been to Disneyland and Disneyworld before (but not SW). Is there a package or plan available that focuses on just that area of Disneyland?
Yes, there are ways to enjoy a more focused, VIP-style experience at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, although Disneyland does not currently offer a dedicated “Star Wars VIP Tour” that is entirely separate from other VIP tours.
Here’s what you need to know for maximizing your Star Wars day in Disneyland:
- Disneyland VIP Tours: Disneyland offers a general VIP Tour program, where a guide can help you navigate the park efficiently, including Galaxy’s Edge. These tours are private, last several hours, and allow you to skip lines at many attractions. You can request a focus on Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge during booking, but availability is limited and it is quite pricey.
- MaxPass / Genie+ and Individual Attraction Selections: If you don’t want a full VIP tour, using Disney’s Genie+ and Individual Attraction Selections can help you reserve access to the major Galaxy’s Edge rides such as Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, minimizing wait times and making the most of a single-day visit.
- Planning a Star Wars-focused day: Even without a VIP guide, you can spend your day in Galaxy’s Edge by arriving early, prioritizing rides, shopping, and immersive experiences:
- Ride Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.
- Ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (consider Individual Attraction Selection to reserve a time).
- Explore Black Spire Outpost, shops, and dining (Oga’s Cantina, Docking Bay 7).
- Participate in interactive experiences with the Play Disney Parks app for missions and storytelling.
Additionally, some third-party travel planners or concierge services may offer custom “Star Wars-focused” itineraries or guides for a fee, but these are unofficial and separate from Disney’s own tours.
In summary, while there isn’t a single official “Galaxy’s Edge VIP Experience,” you can achieve a similar result through:
- Booking a general Disneyland VIP Tour and requesting a Star Wars focus.
- Using Genie+ and Individual Attraction Selections to prioritize rides.
- Arriving early and following a self-guided itinerary within Galaxy’s Edge.
With a single day, careful planning and possibly a VIP guide are your best options for maximizing Star Wars experiences without spending time elsewhere in the park.
