Transportation from airport to disneyland

I'm sure that this has been asked a million times but some of the prior posts are older so trying to get some current information on reliable transportation from John Wayne to Disneyland Hotel for 5 people (3 adults, 2 kids). I'm not opposed to using a ride share however on our trip back to the airport we need to leave early so I thought having something pre booked might work better since we would need an XL uber...TIA

Traveling from John Wayne Airport (SNA) to Disneyland Hotel is relatively straightforward, and you have a few reliable options depending on convenience, cost, and comfort for your group of five (3 adults, 2 kids).

Here are the main options:

  • Pre-booked shuttle or private car: There are many companies that offer private or shared shuttle services from SNA to Disneyland Hotel. For a group of five, a private van is likely the most comfortable. Booking in advance ensures availability and allows you to schedule a precise pick-up time, which is especially useful for your early return trip.
  • Ride-share (Uber/Lyft): You can request a large vehicle (XL) to accommodate your group and luggage. This is flexible and generally reliable. For the return trip to the airport, it’s wise to schedule a ride in advance through the app, so you can be sure a vehicle will arrive at your desired time.
  • Disneyland Resort Express (bus service): This is a shuttle that runs between the airport and Disneyland Resort hotels. It’s convenient and geared toward tourists but may take longer because it makes multiple stops.

Some additional tips:

  • If traveling during peak hours, allow extra travel time—morning traffic can be heavy on the freeway connecting SNA to Anaheim.
  • Check luggage restrictions and space when booking ride-share XL vehicles or shuttle vans, to ensure everyone and all bags fit comfortably.
  • For early airport departures, pre-booking either a private shuttle or scheduling a ride-share pickup is recommended to avoid any last-minute delays.

In summary, for a group of five with luggage and an early return to the airport, a pre-booked private shuttle or scheduled XL ride-share offers the most reliable and stress-free option, while standard ride-share remains a flexible choice for arrival if timing isn’t critical.
