Two night stay suggestion?

Hello - my friend and I will be traveling in October to Napa, probably a Sunday to Tuesday. I have narrowed down based on wanting to be close to downtown but also staying under $400 per night (including taxes etc). And we are wanting our own bedrooms.

Please let me know any thoughts on the below or any others I should consider? Thank you!!

Here is the initial list I put together:

Elm House - little further than the others on list but looks very nice and good rate

Cabernet House - could do 2 bedrooms with sitting room between which is nice option and rate is good, but some of the reviews make me a little hesitant.

Hotel Napa Valley - most expensive option only because there’s only 1 queen left, so second room would have to be a king which is 50 more a night.

Napa Inn and Spa - little more expensive than first options but seems nice and many different room choices.

For a two-night stay in Napa with the priorities of being close to downtown, staying under $400 per night, and having separate bedrooms, all the options you listed are viable, but each has different strengths depending on your preferences.

Considerations for each property:

  • Elm House: This property is a little further from downtown, but it is well-reviewed, has good rates, and offers a quiet, boutique-style experience. If your priority is a serene atmosphere over walkability, this could be ideal.
  • Cabernet House: The layout with two bedrooms and a sitting room in between is very convenient for friends traveling together. However, mixed reviews may indicate potential issues with service or upkeep. If you choose this, it might be worth calling ahead to confirm the specific unit and amenities.
  • Hotel Napa Valley: Slightly more expensive due to room configurations, but offers a central location and standard hotel amenities. This could be a good choice if you prefer a traditional hotel experience and proximity to downtown Napa.
  • Napa Inn and Spa: Offers a variety of room choices and a nice property ambiance. It may be a bit pricier than Elm or Cabernet House, but the spa amenities and room variety could make it worthwhile for a more relaxing stay.

Other considerations:

  • Check if the property provides complimentary breakfast or parking, as this can add convenience and savings.
  • Read recent reviews closely, focusing on noise levels, cleanliness, and proximity to downtown Napa restaurants and tasting rooms.
  • If walkability to downtown Napa is a priority, prioritize locations closer to the riverfront area and Oxbow Public Market.
  • Consider contacting properties directly; sometimes booking direct can provide better room selection or minor discounts compared to third-party platforms.

In summary, if your main priorities are separate bedrooms and affordability, Cabernet House is attractive but with a caution about mixed reviews. Elm House offers a quieter, boutique feel with a good rate but is less central. Hotel Napa Valley and Napa Inn and Spa are solid options for more standard hotel amenities and easy access to downtown Napa.
