Amara resort or Cliffs King room

Considering staying at either the Amara Resort in Sedona or a Cliffs King room associated with L’Auberg Del Mar . Does anyone have an opinion regarding which one would be better. Cost is not an issue. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

Both the Amara Resort and a King room at The Cliffs associated with L’Auberge Del Mar offer high-end accommodations, but they cater to slightly different experiences and atmospheres. Your choice depends largely on what kind of stay you are looking for in Sedona.

Amara Resort:

The Amara Resort in Sedona is a boutique-style resort with a modern, upscale aesthetic. It is located right along the Oak Creek and offers beautiful red rock views from many rooms and public spaces. The property emphasizes a relaxed, resort-vibe experience with easy access to local trails, creekside areas, and Sedona’s restaurants and shops.

  • Pros: Modern design, creekside location, resort-style pool, spa services, proximity to Uptown Sedona, excellent restaurant on site.
  • Cons: Some rooms may have smaller views compared to cliffside properties, can feel busy during peak season.

Cliffs King Room at L’Auberge Del Mar:

L’Auberge Del Mar is known for luxury and exclusivity, with accommodations often on the cliffs overlooking Oak Creek. A King room here would typically provide a more private, serene setting with high-end finishes and premium amenities. The property has a strong emphasis on quiet relaxation and upscale service, making it ideal if you want a more intimate and tranquil experience.

  • Pros: Stunning cliffside views, upscale luxury, quiet and private, high-end spa and service, romantic and peaceful atmosphere.
  • Cons: Slightly less central for walking to Sedona’s shops/restaurants (though still a short drive), fewer “resort-style” communal areas than Amara.

In summary, if your priority is a modern, social, and convenient resort experience with easy access to Sedona’s attractions, the Amara Resort is likely the better choice. If you value a secluded, luxury experience with dramatic views and a quieter atmosphere, the Cliffs King room at L’Auberge Del Mar is the superior option. Both properties are excellent, so your choice really depends on whether you prefer a lively resort feel versus a private cliffside retreat.
