Real inn & Suites renovation?
We are scheduled to stay at the Real Inn & Suites this weekend I just read somewhere that they’re under renovation and the pool is closed and breakfast isn’t being offered.
Has anyone been there in the last week or so and can confirm? We are traveling with 3 kids so the pool and breakfast were the main reasons we chose this location. Thanks
Good news — yes, your concerns are valid: the property originally known as has been undergoing a full renovation and has been rebranded as .
Here are the details and how it might impact your stay:
- The renovation has been extensive — the hotel was transformed “following an extensive property-wide renovation … the former Sedona Real Inn & Suites” into Mountain Modern Sedona.
- According to Booking.com’s listing, the pool, lobby and breakfast areas were closed from 15 November 2024 to 26 April 2025 in connection with the renovation.
What this means for your upcoming stay:
- If your visit is after April 2025, the hotel appears to have re-opened post-renovation under the new name Mountain Modern Sedona, with upgraded amenities including a new pool, a hot tub, an on-site café/restaurant (The Den), and fresh guest rooms.
- If your stay is actually scheduled for the very near term and you are relying on the “Real Inn & Suites” amenities (pool open, breakfast buffet included, etc), you’ll want to confirm directly with the property that everything is fully operational under the new branding — the renovation timeline suggests a risk of amenities being in transition.
- Since you mentioned your main reasons for choosing the hotel were the pool and breakfast buffet, this re-branding and renovation means you should check what the new breakfast program is (whether the buffet is still offered, included in your rate, or possibly changed to a la carte) and whether the pool is indeed open and heated as you expect.
Recommendation:
Call or email the hotel directly — mention your booking under “Real Inn & Suites” and check specifically:
- Is the “outdoor pool + hot tub” fully open now, and what are its hours?
- What style of breakfast is included (buffet, grab-&-go, café) and in which hours?
- Have any parts of the property or amenities been temporarily closed for the renovation final-touches?
If you don’t feel comfortable with their answers (e.g., if breakfast is now paid separately or the pool is still partially closed), you may consider adjusting your hotel choice — especially since the pool and breakfast are key for your family stay with 3 kids.
In short: yes — the hotel was under renovation and has reopened as a new brand. As long as you verify the amenities are fully functional and as expected, your stay should be fine. But don’t assume the “old version” of amenities apply without checking.
