have booked the Kimpton Everly for my family - 2 adults and 2 kids - one wheelchair user. It looked like a nice hotel in central location. I've seen some posts about the area being seedy, unsafe, stinking of weed (that doesn't bother us) and there being a large homeless camp near the hotel. I just wondered what others thought? We were hoping to go to the walk of fame and look around that area in daytime . Other than that we will be using it as a base and plan to go to Universal and Warner, Getty and Griffiths and possibly some time in Santa Monica if time allows, before we head off to Palm Springs. We have been to NYC in stayed on Time Square when everyone told us not too, so I'm not sure if some people are more sensitive to seediness than us :). Thanks
The Kimpton Everly Hotel is located in the Hollywood area, just north of Hollywood Boulevard. It’s considered central and convenient for visiting major attractions like the Walk of Fame, Universal Studios, and Griffith Observatory. However, as with many parts of Hollywood, the area has a mix of attractions and urban challenges, including visible homelessness and some street-level drug use.

Things to keep in mind:
In summary, the Kimpton Everly is a good base for families visiting Hollywood attractions. The hotel itself is secure and accommodating, but like many urban tourist areas, situational awareness is recommended, especially after dark. During the day, walking to the Walk of Fame and nearby sights should be fine, and evening or longer trips are best done via car or rideshare for convenience and safety.
