Nathan Hotel to Aberdeen fisherman’s wharf

We will be staying at Nathan hotel. Thinking of join a tour:Aberdeen boat tour with floating museum. It starts at 10.25an and is hourly.

Thinking of taking the 11.25 am tour. When it ends, we could have lunch at the wharf. But that would be lunch hour. Are there many eateries around and would it be crowded? Any recommendation?

Thank you.

The Aberdeen area in Hong Kong is famous for its floating village, seafood restaurants, and Sampan boat tours. If you are staying at Nathan Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, you can reach Aberdeen by taxi or public transport in roughly 30–40 minutes, depending on traffic.

Regarding your plan to take the 11:25 a.m. Aberdeen boat tour with the floating museum:

  • The tour typically lasts around 45–60 minutes, so you would finish around 12:15–12:30 p.m.
  • This coincides with lunch hours, which in Hong Kong usually run from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., so some restaurants may be busier than usual.
  • There are a number of eateries around Aberdeen and the Fisherman’s Wharf area, ranging from casual seafood stalls and floating restaurants to more traditional Hong Kong-style diners.

Recommendations for lunch:

  • Jumbo Floating Restaurant: Iconic and located in Aberdeen Harbour; very popular with tourists, so expect a wait during peak lunch hours.
  • Local seafood restaurants on Aberdeen Street: Smaller, less touristy options offering fresh seafood dishes; may be slightly less crowded.
  • Cafés and fast casual options: There are also cafes and small eateries serving rice, noodles, and dim sum around the waterfront area.

Tips for handling lunch crowd:

  • Consider making a reservation if you plan to eat at a popular restaurant like Jumbo.
  • Alternatively, you could explore slightly off-peak options by walking a short distance to smaller streets nearby.
  • If you prefer a quicker lunch, some floating restaurants or nearby cafés offer set meals or takeaway options.

Overall, the area has sufficient dining options, but be prepared for potential crowds during the standard lunch hour. With some planning or flexibility, you should be able to enjoy a pleasant lunch after your boat tour.
