“Trajectory of Traces” by Chatchai Pochanaporn

This exhibition presents paintings that originate from an understanding of life and changes within oneself, through journeys that are not just physical movements, but encounters with uncertainty, new places, and inner silence, which gradually shape the artist’s identity over many years.

The artist started by taking photos to record his impressions of various places. However, as time passed, he found that photographs could not fully convey the feelings and emotions that arose during those moments. Therefore, he turned to creating paintings that gave him a space to express himself more deeply.

The artist conveys stories through white ink paintings on dark canvases, conveying impressions in the form of “landscapes of the mind” through a semi-abstract visual art language that combines delicate lines with free and emotional brushstrokes, as if they were traces of thoughts and emotions moving along the path of life. Each image is not only a representation of a place, but also a reflection of feelings, doubts, longing, and fragility that we all may have felt along the way of life. It questions what we keep inside and what we may forget while running after our goals.

We will see the artist’s concept that does not focus on reaching the destination, but rather digs for value “along the way,” in imperfection, in change. Looking back at memories that may be fading and conveying them as art that is like traces of life
