Half Day in Fukuoka: Hakata walk

We had just half a day in Fukuoka, starting from Hakata Station — such an easy base to explore on foot.

🏯 Stop 1: Tochoji Temple

First stop: Tochoji Temple — the five-story red pagoda is absolutely stunning. A peaceful, photogenic place to begin the walk. The temple grounds felt calm, a lovely break from the city buzz.

🏘️ Stop 2: Hakata Old Town Area

Next, we explored the Hakata Old Town area nearby — loved walking through old streets and quiet corners. You can still feel the atmosphere of Fukuoka’s past here — very charming and different from the modern side of the city.

🏮 Stop 3 (Evening): Canal City Hakata

We spent the evening at Canal City Hakata — perfect way to end the day! The fountain show at night was such a highlight — colorful, lively, and fun. Great spot to relax after walking, with lots of food options and shops too.
