A typical European-style church, now a popular check-in spot

Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel is located at No. 14 Shamian Street, Guangzhou. It is a Catholic church on Shamian Island. The church is named after the statue of Our Lady of Lourdes in the garden to the south of the church. The church was built in 1890, during the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty. It was originally built for the French consulate in Guangzhou. The church faces south, with a one-story hall and a three-story bell tower. All the doors and windows are inlaid with stained glass, and the exterior has a distinct Gothic style. The entire building consists of the main hall, the priest's building, the nun's building, and the statue of Our Lady of Lourdes.
