The Yoshinogari Ruins in Kanzaki City, Saga Prefecture, is one of the largest moated settlements from the Yayoi period in Japan. The vast site is dotted with restored pit dwellings, watchtowers, and shrines, making it feel as if you have traveled back in time to ancient times. It is perfect for history buffs as well as those who want to relax in nature. When I actually visited, I felt my mind freed by the spacious space, and it was a lot of fun to walk around while imagining the lives of ancient people. The exhibition hall provides detailed information on excavated items and life at that time, so it is also attractive that you can enjoy traveling while learning. It is wonderful to take a historical stroll with your partner, and it is also recommended to take a leisurely look around on a solo trip.
A place where you can feel that "history is so close to you". It is a spot that tickles your intellectual curiosity during your trip to Saga!
