Hotel Monterey Okinawa Spa & Resort Premium Club Floor Deluxe Room

This is Monterey. The pronunciation "Monterey" might be closer to the Korean style. 😊 I've stayed at their branches in Kyoto, Sendai, and Himeji before. It's a Japanese business hotel chain.

The Monterey in Okinawa, also referred to as "Monterey," is a resort-style hotel with "Spa & Resort" added to its name, and it's quite a large-scale hotel.

For those traveling without a car, the 20/120 bus connecting Naha and Nago runs every 30 minutes, which is the usual way to get there. The airport shuttle operates only a few times a day.

If you get off at the Tiger Beach bus stop, it's less than a 3-minute walk to the hotel. To reach the reception, you need to take the elevator from the 1st floor.

On the first day, after enjoying an afternoon tea in Naha, I took a bus for about 2 hours and arrived at 9 PM to check in. I was lucky to get a room upgrade from a standard room to a club room!

The Premium Club Floor Deluxe Room is located on the top floor, the 12th floor. There was no additional explanation during check-in, so it seems that access to the tea lounge drinks or Blue Reef facilities was not included. It was just a room upgrade. Based on my experience, I've often received upgrades when checking in late, after 9 PM. Perhaps it was a canceled room? I also received two breakfast vouchers. 🤣

The room is located in the middle of a curved section, so the view doesn't include the pool or the chapel, but it offers a long stretch of ocean and sandy beach. That night, there was a full moon, and I could see Moon Beach in the neighboring area. 😊

I spent a leisurely time sitting on the balcony, listening to the sound of the waves. I didn't have dinner that night, saving my appetite for the two breakfasts the next day.

At 7 AM, I had my first breakfast, a Japanese-style set meal. It was neatly prepared with an Okinawan twist. I refrained from getting seconds to save room for the next meal.

After breakfast, I went for a walk. Since it was winter, the outdoor pool was closed, so I just walked around it. The chapel was also closed, so I only saw the front. I also briefly visited the beach before returning to my room.

I spent about an hour lying down before heading to my second breakfast at 9:30 AM. This time, it was a buffet. The variety and abundance of options were impressive. Since it was late, I was seated by the window, enjoying the ocean view while eating. You could even make your own Soki Soba, which tasted quite good. The fruit selection was a bit lacking, though.

After returning to my room, I spent another hour enjoying the view until the 11 AM checkout. The weather had cleared up beautifully. I watched a group of middle school students enjoying activities outside. They were either scared or excited, screaming loudly. 😊

I finished my staycation with a cup of coffee on the balcony, checked out, left my luggage at the hotel, and departed. Thank you!
