My solo trip to Shizuoka was themed around art and relaxation!
Day 1 was spent at Takumi-yado in Shizuoka City
Here, I experienced dyeing Minä Perhonen fabric
and made my own original pouch.
The time spent carefully dyeing, choosing my favorite colors, was a tranquil moment, like facing myself.
After the experience, I took a break at the on-site cafe. A warm latte soothed my slightly rainy-day gloom.
I stayed at Hotel Aurain.
The hotel was clean, and the large communal bath with sauna was incredibly comfortable! Natural hot springs are great, aren't they?
I felt at ease even while staying alone. The free breakfast buffet was also very satisfying, with a wide selection of local ingredients! The shirasu rice was especially delicious.
Day 2 was spent in Atami. My destination was the MOA Museum of Art.
The location overlooking the ocean was impressive, and the space itself, not just the exhibits, felt like a work of art.
The rich, fragrant pistachio cake I had at the cafe on the way back was the perfect way to end my trip.
Please use this as reference for your trip!!
