1. It's very convenient to take the scenic area bus directly on a solo trip, though I did get a little carsick. It felt much better sitting in the back. 🤣 The shuttle bus stops near the entrance to Pure Land Temple, which is very convenient.
2. Pure Land Temple is open until 6:00 PM, and the Wooden Pagoda is open until 10:00 PM during the summer. However, after 6:00 PM, the first floor of the Wooden Pagoda and the Little Western Paradise are closed. So if you want to see the Wooden Pagoda illuminated at night, you can visit Pure Land Temple first and then enter the Wooden Pagoda before 6:00 PM, preferably around 4:00 PM. Explore the first floor and the Little Western Paradise first, then explore the rest of the area. However, please note that the last scenic area bus leaves at 6:00 PM. If you leave after this time, you'll need to consider other return options, such as the bus or high-speed rail. You'll need to check it yourself, but it's not difficult, just a bit of a hassle.
3. The staff at Pure Land Temple were super nice. They knew we were there to see the caisson ceiling, and since it was dark and the light inside was low, they even brought out a headlight to illuminate the hall clearly. Kudos!
4. Although I didn't see the patrol cats at the wooden pagoda, I did see two kittens at the Pure Land Temple!
