Sitting on the oversized terrace, I was caressed by the refreshing mountain breeze, scented with camphor and birch wood. Everywhere I looked, I could see the verdant valley and the magnificent reservoir. I dove into the lavender bushes, gently inhaling their pure scent. Children rolled happily on the grass, while the adults sat on the porch, enjoying a vegetarian meal and lavender iced tea. Then, I enjoyed a bowl of purple lavender ice cream, fragrant with both milk and lavender. This was a beautiful summer day in Miyun Yunfeng Mountain!

I'd long heard of the Fairytale Tree House at Miyun Yunfeng Mountain, and finally had the chance to experience it up close and personal. As soon as we stopped the car, we could feel the fairytale atmosphere of Yunfeng Mountain. We took the shuttle bus up the mountain at Xingfu Station. The first thing that caught our eyes was a large area of purple sage and a super cute hand-painted map. The Yunfeng Mountain exploration journey with the little monsters was about to begin!

Dream Field Lavender Garden and Levanti Lavender Shop

Children's favorite areas are the Peter Rabbit slide at the entrance and the Dream Field Lavender Garden. Find the signpost for Dream Field at the entrance and walk downhill to the romantic Dream Field Lavender Garden. Along the way, you'll be dazzled by the sight of flowers and plants: petunias, the rabbits' favorite, catnip, catnip, apricots hanging from the branches, bird cookies made by children using grains for the birds, and wind chimes hanging from the treetops, playing beautiful music.

A simple climb along the wooden plank path takes you to each of the fairytale treehouses in the forest. Each treehouse has a unique style. The Jack and the Beanstalk treehouse is truly like something out of a fairy tale. A large beanstalk sprouts from the treehouse, which is actually a long slide leading from the house to the outside, allowing children to slide down it as many times as they want.

Yunfeng Mountain My favorite is the fairytale treehouse at Swan Lake. It has the widest view of all the treehouses. From my bed, I can enjoy the tranquil valley and the 270-degree unparalleled views of the shimmering Miyun Reservoir. However, I prefer to sit on the terrace, where I can enjoy the undisturbed beauty of the valley and feel the mountain breeze and the natural atmosphere. The interior features a king-size bed with a renowned British mattress, solid wood and leather furniture, and huge floor-to-ceiling windows, giving the entire house an air of rustic luxury.

However, the Fairy Tale Tree House is so popular that if you can’t book it, you can stay at the Dongchan Temple at the foot of the mountain. The room is fresh and elegant, full of Zen, and it is also close to the restaurant, which is very suitable for the elderly.

If you think restaurants in scenic areas are bad, then this stereotype will make you miss out on a wonderful experience. There's a Mingyuan Cultural Restaurant in Yunfeng Mountain. It's in a great location, right in the heart of the scenic area, and there's a soft lawn in front of the restaurant where children can roll around to their heart's content.

Because it's located in Chaosheng Temple on Yunfeng Mountain, Mingyuan Restaurant is a vegetarian restaurant, but you wouldn't know it's a vegetarian restaurant just by looking at the menu. The pickled fish made with soy protein and seaweed is so delicious that you'd think it was pickled fish if you didn't taste it carefully! The three-cup chicken also looks like chicken at first glance. The dishes here are all made with homemade sunflower oil, which is particularly healthy. In the summer, a cup of natural lavender iced tea is refreshing and relaxing.

Even though we were sitting outside on the porch, we weren't bothered by mosquitoes or flies. This is because the garden is planted with many mosquito-repellent plants. Not only do they emit a relaxing scent, but they also effectively repel flies, so parents don't have to worry about their children getting bitten.

Besides the purple lavender garden, there are also cherry blossoms along the way up the mountain, pear blossoms to the west, apricot blossoms near the Buddha Rock, and peach blossoms in the tree house area. In early summer, there are sophora japonica flowers in Chaosheng Temple, and in autumn, there are large maple leaves next to Chaosheng Temple.

There are also many interesting interactive experiences here. You can copy the Heart Sutra in Chaosheng Temple, make bird cookies and seed collages on the tea garden lawn, make lung-clearing tea bags, and even build a mini garden under the wind chime tree... There are many colorful activities in the forest.

If you come to Yunfeng Mountain in the summer, you must try the lavender ice cream at the entrance. After so many years, the lavender ice cream at Yunfeng Mountain has maintained the affordable price of 10 yuan per piece. The rich milk and lavender aroma, and the romantic purple color are so addictive!

2. Transportation: It is recommended to drive yourself and park in the parking lot at the foot of the mountain

3. Tickets: Adult tickets are 35 yuan, half price for children, students and seniors

4. Accommodation: For families traveling with children, it is recommended to stay in the Fairy Tale Tree House. If you cannot book the Fairy Tale Tree House or have difficulty walking, we also recommend the Dongchan Temple at the foot of the mountain in the scenic area. Don't worry about carrying luggage up the mountain, there are staff to help transport luggage up and down the mountain.
