I didn’t expect that just a 1.5-hour drive from Beijing would bring me to Legu Silver Beach, next to the Yunju Temple in Fangshan.

Walking through it, I felt like I was experiencing the beauty of Zhangjiajie’s dramatic peaks and beautiful waters.

If you stand on the summit of the scenic area's main peak,

atop the Qingyun Glass Plank Road,

an ancient poet once remarked, "Climbing Mount Taihang and looking east, you'll see a vast expanse of sea and wind."

You can also see "five peaks surrounding a mountain, a large river in front of the mountain, and a pool at the foot of the mountain."

Of course, such a view is rare in Beijing. The 8,000-meter-long plank road in the scenic area, and the glass plank road that winds through the mountains, are collectively known as the Double Plank Road.

On the plank road, I happened to see:

a couple sitting on a boulder beside the plank road, resting.

It had a chivalrous air, reminiscent of the swordsmanship of Mount Huashan.

1. Tianzi Peak: The highest peak in the Legu Silver Beach Scenic Area. The Sunfeng Rain-Praying Platform on Tianzi Peak offers a view of a forest of bamboo shoots. This was also where ancient people prayed for rain and held rituals. It's located on the right side of the mountain gate. 2. Fun Bridge:

There are three bridges in the scenic area, two of which are located at the main entrance.

One is called the Juma River Chain Bridge. It's a bit wobbly when you walk across it, making it a great photo opportunity.

Parallel to the Juma River Chain Bridge is the Tingbu Bridge, a stone road bridge similar to the stone bridge at Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village. Both bridges cross the same Juma River.

The Juma River, formerly known as the Laishui River, originates deep in the Taihang Mountains in Laiyuan County, Hebei Province. A tributary of the Daqing River in the Haihe River basin, it flows through the Yanjing region.

At the deepest part of the scenic area, there's a bridge called the "Qingtian Glass Suspension Bridge." It spans the cliffs of Tianzi Peak and Qingren Ridge, resembling a "bridge to the sky" from afar.

3. Qingyun Glass Plank Road: This plank road is located high on a mountain next to the Juma River. It feels like a "hanging plank road". You need to put on shoe covers before walking on the plank road. There are people reminding you to change shoe covers at the entrance and exit of the plank road.

Walking on the plank road is very smooth. The orange safety railings on the plank road are very high. The corner of the mountain is the best place to take photos. Here you can see the scene of "five peaks surrounding a mountain, a large river in front of the mountain, and a pool at the foot of the mountain."

There's also an outdoor experience—cliff crossing—that offers a glimpse of this scenery. The total length is over 200 meters, suspended 100 meters above sea level. The entrance is at a suspension bridge, and the rest of the trail is very safe. You can ask staff for guidance and assistance. 99 yuan/person.

4. Canyon Rafting Among Strange Peaks:

The scenic area boasts over 8,000 meters of hiking trails, each offering a different view. Deep within, you'll find verdant mountains and lush greenery. In the Grand Canyon beneath Tianzi Peak in the Taihang Mountains, there's the "First Rafting at the Foot of the Emperor," approximately 3.8 kilometers long and featuring over 300 high-speed jumps.
