Three into the south of colorful clouds | Meet the double rainbow of Dali after the rain and the sky, looking for Lugu Lake

2020 is a magical year, but it has not stopped us from traveling. The epidemic improved slightly, so we drove to Guangxi and Guizhou, and just after the summer eased a little, we embarked on a journey to Yunnan again.

Maybe this mystery comes from

some books I have read, such as "Ghost Blowing Lanterns: Yunnan Worm Valley" that I just revisited before departure.

In

2014, my friends and I traveled to Yunnan for a free trip, and that time we checked in Lijiang and Dali, and Kunming, as my last transit station to fly to Chengdu, only made a short stop, at that time I didn't think about recording it in writing

In

2018, the company organized a tour of Yunnan, that time we checked in Lijiang and Shangri-La, we used Lijiang as a transit station for round-trip flights, that time it was more of a team building activity

This time, we drove from Changsha, and Kunming was still used as a transit point on our journey, and after a short stop in Kunming, we immediately went to the most important destination, Dali, and Lugu Lake at the junction of Sichuan and Yunnan.

In early July, my mother's right foot was fractured, so the most special thing about this trip was that my mother insisted on "traveling with injuries"~~ In addition to our daily luggage in the trunk, the most important thing is that we also brought a wheelchair and a pair of crutches, which is why we weighed and chose to drive from Changsha to Yunnan

Changsha
route plan

Changsha-Kunming-Dali-Lugu Lake-Changsha

Pre-trip preparation

The most important tool for self-driving is of course the car, we like to travel by car very much, every time before departure, we must carefully check the car condition, such as the trunk in addition to luggage and food and drink on the road, we will definitely check the tire pressure, brakes, engine oil, water tank, etc. before departure, and we will definitely check the warning triangle and carry the car fire extinguisher

[Sun protection cannot be ignored] Be sure to bring sun protection clothing, sunscreen skin care products, care masks, etc.! Yunnan is a plateau area, with high sunshine intensity, even on cloudy days, it is very vicious, so be sure to take precautions. I remember that the first time I went to Yunnan in 2014, it was not well protected, and the result was obvious panda hands

[Appropriate thick clothing] Although we went in August, many places were so hot that people panicked, such as Changsha issued high temperature warnings every day, the temperature was about 36 degrees, and it was normal for the actual outdoor temperature to exceed 40 degrees. But in Yunnan, it is a summer resort, the temperature difference between day and night is large, in those days in Yunnan, the lowest temperature encountered was in Lugu Lake at 11 degrees, and the highest temperature was in Kunming at 26 degrees, especially at night we must cover the quilt to sleep, and we even opened an electric blanket in Lugu Lake

The rainy season in Yunnan is generally from June to August, that is, during the summer period, Yunnan as a whole is rich in rain, sometimes it is showers, sometimes it rains every day, for example, it rained for almost half a month in Dali and Lugu Lake before we went this time, but we were very lucky, in the few days in Yunnan we only encountered showers in Shuanglang Ancient Town (after the showers, we also saw a rainbow), and in Lugu Lake we encountered half a day of rain, and the rest of the time was sunny. Because it is the rainy season to travel to Yunnan during this period, it is recommended that you have enough shoes.

[Bring your own toiletries] You can choose to use a hotel/inn, but we generally bring our own, one is more hygienic, and the other is to prevent waste of resources

["Spring City" Kunming - the second time as a transit station]

In 2014, I went to Yunnan with my friends for a free trip, and Kunming was the transit point for me to fly to Chengdu, and I didn't go anywhere and only stayed overnight. This round of self-driving tour of Kunming is actually not on our main itinerary, because my cousin happened to be in Kunming for two months to escape the heat, so we used Kunming as an intermediate place to visit relatives and friends. We stayed in Kunming for one night, did not go to more places, only visited the Yunnan Provincial Museum opposite the community and the Dianchi Lake Haigeng Park not far away.

Dianchi Lake - Pretend to feed seagulls to find herons

Dianchi Lake, also known as Kunming Lake, is the largest freshwater lake in Yunnan Province at an altitude of 1886 meters, and is known as the "Pearl of the Plateau". Because Dianchi Haigeng Park is close to my cousin's house, we went to Haigeng Park.

Address: No. 1318, Dianchi Road, Xishan District, Kunming

Time: 8:00-21:00

Tickets: Free

After

parking the car in the parking lot, we quickly walked to the pedestrian walkway.

Haigeng Park The

thousand willow trees in the park are a testimony to the vicissitudes of Haigeng for 30 years

Haigeng Park

An extremely quiet heron stood there for a long time, and of course I observed it for a long time

Haigeng Park

Seagulls can only be seen during the winter months (November to March each year), so now is a very good time to see them. And in August, you can't see seagulls in Dianchi Lake, although there are no seagulls, but there are pigeons~~ As long as there is food, it will attract a group of pigeons to come. This group of pigeons has been fed very close to each other, and they are no longer afraid of humans at all

Haigeng Park Haigeng Park

is all crowded to grab food

Haigeng Park

My parents always wanted to feed the seagulls before they came to Yunnan, but in the end the seagulls had nothing to feed, and they were not happy to feed the pigeons

Haigeng Park Haigeng Park

Coming out of Haigeng Park, we drove to the Haihong Wetland next to it, just to see the "Sleeping Beauty".

The "sleeping beauty" we are talking about is actually the West Mountain, which is composed of Huating Mountain, Taihua Mountain, Luohan Mountain, Hanging Bang Mountain and other peaks, overlooking the peaks of the Western Mountains, like a young girl lying on her back on the shore of Dianchi Lake, with green silk hanging down. Unfortunately, it was cloudy in Kunming that morning, although the sleeping beauty was not particularly clear, if you look closely, you can also identify the "head, chest, abdomen, and legs"~

Yunnan Provincial Museum - The cultural center that radiates South Asia and Southeast Asia

I like to visit museums everywhere I go, and it is an excellent place to learn about the local history. After reading the "National Treasures" column, I especially thought of the Yunnan Provincial Museum. The new Yunnan Provincial Museum is located in Guandu District, Kunming City, bordering Guangfu Road in the north and Baoxiang River in the west, because of the special color of the building's appearance, so you can see the building

from a distance Yunnan Provincial Museum

The new building of the Yunnan Provincial Museum has become a landmark building in Kunming, the main building of the new building is zigzagzag-shaped, which is inspired by Yunnan's "one seal" traditional residential building, and the exterior color is red and copper, which is intended to reflect the reputation of Yunnan's "non-ferrous metal kingdom".

Address: No. 6393, Guangfu Road, Kunming City, Yunnan Province

Time: Every Tuesday to Sunday 09:00 - 17:00 (last admission at 16:30, closed on Mondays)

Tickets: Free. Individual visitors can enter for free without a ticket <

In front of the museum is parked a float from Yunnan Province during the 2019 National Day military parade, with green peacocks, elephants, seven-colored garlands, landscapes and auspicious clouds, which look very exquisite

Yunnan Provincial Museum

On the east side of the new Yunnan Provincial Museum, that is, directly opposite the entrance of the museum is the Yunnan Provincial Grand Theater. The whole building is like a woven hat "Crown of Yunnan", which also belongs to one of Kunming's landmark buildings

Kunming

You cannot bring mobile phone gimbals, tripods, etc. to enter the museum, you can go to the storage area at the door for free storage, and then you can go through the security check to visit. When I went, I made an appointment for the exhibition on the official account of the Yunnan Provincial Museum in advance, but when I entered, I did not check my ID card and make an appointment.

The Yunnan Provincial Museum has a total of 3 floors, the first floor has the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the No. 1 and No. 2 exhibition halls (the temporary exhibition hall is the Moso Special Exhibition, as of February 28, 2021), the second floor is the Yunnan History and Civilization Exhibition - "Ancient Yunnan", "The Light of Civilization" and "Nanzhong Dominance" three exhibition halls, and the third floor is the Yunnan History and Civilization Exhibition - "Miaoxiang Buddha Country", "Opening the Frontier and Defending the Border" and "Centennial Storm" three exhibition halls. When I went, the "Centennial" pavilion on the third floor was being upgraded, so the exhibits were not very complete.

Enter the field of vision of ancient Yunnan--

Yunnan Provincial Museum

This area should be the most interesting for children, starting with the evolutionary history of marine life, dinosaurs, mammals, etc. After that, I went to the discovery of the Yuanmou people, and I remember that the first chapter of the primary school history book was the introduction of the discovery process and historical significance of the Yuanmou people

Passed through ancient Yunnan into the Bronze Age of Yunnan

Yunnan Provincial Museum

If you have seen "National Treasure", you must have an impression of this exhibit. The story of actor Li Guangjie's passionate protection of the ancient Dian Kingdom in the show revolves around this exhibit, which is [Gilded Knight Shell Holder]

Yunnan Provincial Museum

The ancient Dian nobles used it to store currency seashells, which were important utensils to highlight the status of the powerful, worship ancestors, and record social events. There are tiger-shaped ears on both sides, and four cows are cast on the lid, and the gilded knight in the whole utensil represents the image of the noble warriors of the ancient Dian State at that time, which is particularly conspicuous, and this knight is like a "golden armor god", mighty and inviolable.

Yunnan Provincial Museum Yunnan Provincial Museum

This [Bull Tiger Copper Case] also attracted me to stop and watch for a long time. Although this collection was not on the "National Treasure" program, it is also the treasure of the Bozhen Pavilion in Yunnan Province, and it is said that "there are horses stepping on Feiyan in the north, and there are Niu Hu copper cases in the south" is enough to highlight its status. This collection is a sacrificial vessel of the ancient Dian Kingdom, the main body of which is a standing cow, the horns are slender and raised, the back naturally falls into a case, there is a scaled-down climbing tiger on the tail with its mouth open to bite the cow's tail, and the big cow is hollow under the belly, and there is a sideways standing calf. The big cow and the little tiger are formed at one time, and the calf is cast and welded under the belly of the big cow. It is actually a masterpiece of Chinese bronze art, and it is a rare treasure of our country's ancient culture.

Yunnan Provincial Museum

Although this [Hanging Man Bronze Spear (Western Han Dynasty)] was not placed in a conspicuous position, it still attracted my attention. This is a kind of ceremonial weapon, which is used by a generation of Dian kings to show off their martial arts, and the most characteristic is that a naked villain is hung near the handle of the knife, although it is a villain, but it is very exquisite, the hair is droopy, the body is also curved, and the hands are tied backwards, and historians deduce that these figures should represent the captured Kunming people.

Yunnan Provincial Museum

From the Bronze Age to the Eastern Han Dynasty to the Early Tang Dynasty

This is my favorite part of the entire exhibition hall, because the collection is extremely exquisite

Yunnan Provincial Museum

Even the smallest exhibits are depicted with extreme delicacies

Yunnan Provincial Museum

If you have seen "National Treasure", you will also have an impression of this exhibit, in the show, actor Tong Dawei incarnated as the Dali Emperor Duan Yu guards the treasure of the town hall on the right side of the picture below - [Dali Country Silver Gilded Beaded Golden-winged Bird]. The "golden-winged bird" flapped its wings and flew high, becoming an unchanging totem in the hearts of the Dali nation. There is an enlarged version of this totem at the entrance of the Bo Gate in Yunnan Province. If you go to the Three Pagodas Scenic Area of Chongsheng Temple in Dali to check in, then you can also find an enlarged version of the totem in the square in front of the scenic spot.

Eat in Kunming - there are many kinds of special Dai cauliflower
Kunming Kunming For

me, the most impressive thing is this fried grasshopper and fried bamboo worms, I personally think that fried bamboo worms are more fragrant and delicious

Kunming After

a special Dai dish, I felt that I had tasted a variety of dishes, all of which were special dishes that were difficult to eat, and it was a very good experience

Since
I

traveled to Dali with friends in 2014, I have always been fond of the customs and customs of Dali. That time we had limited time, lived in the ancient city of Dali, climbed Cangshan Mountain to Tianlong Babu City, visited the Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple and Tianjing Pavilion, and went to Nanzhao Style Island by Erhai Lake. But that time we were in Dali when the weather was bad, so we didn't see the most beautiful Dali. This time I decided to travel to Yunnan by car, and the first place I decided to go was Dali.

Dali Ancient City - The Unescapable Commercialization Atmosphere

Dali was once the economic, political, military and cultural center of Yunnan, and is a well-known literary state.

Address: No. 42, Yita Road, Dali City

Tickets: Free

Parking: There are several parking lots in the scenic spot, with a maximum charge of 50 yuan/day

And

what impressed me the most about the ancient city of Dali is the city tower of the southeast gate of Dali, which I lived in the ancient city when I first arrived in Dali in 2014, very close to the southeast gate. This time I went to Dali , and I chose to stay in an inn near the parking lot of the orchard on the east side of the relatively quiet side. But it doesn't prevent me from passing through the ancient city pedestrian street to check in at the southeast gate.

Dali Ancient City When

I arrived that day, the city tower was not lit up, I waited in front of the city tower for a while, and when it was close to 8 o'clock, the city tower was lit up, Instantly back to the way I saw it in 2014

Dali Ancient City Dali Ancient City

Next to the southeast gate is Longquanfang. Longquanfang was built with reference to the Shanggongfang of Dali Kingdom, which belongs to the architectural pattern of the "Hui" shape, and the characteristics of the houses with blue tiles and white walls make Longquan Lane full of flavor. Passing through the archway of Longquanfang, you can see the dragon spring water gushing out, echoing the Longquan Peak of Cangshan.

Dali Ancient City Go

straight along the main road through the southeast gate, and you will reach the bottom of Wuhua Tower.

Wuhua Tower was first built in the Tang Dynasty, with a total of four floors, that is, pedestal + three floors, which was the place where Nanzhao hosted VIPs at that time. Wuhua Tower has been burned and rebuilt many times during the vicissitudes of thousands of years, and the last remaining is the Wuhua Tower in the early Ming Dynasty, but it was also demolished during the period. The Wuhua Building we see now was built in 1998.

Dali Ancient City

Foreigner Street is a place where Dali's ancient charm and Western culture are combined, and this archway was also photographed when I was in the ancient city in 2014, and I couldn't help but take another picture this time. Because the ancient city is much more commercial than in 2014, I didn't go inside this time

Dali Ancient City

Dali Confucian Temple is a temple of the ancient Dali with both the dual identity of the prefecture and the county, and is a landmark building of the ancient city of Dali

Dali Ancient City

Dali City God City should be newly built in recent years, which is actually a collection place for special catering specialties, etc., the ancient city has become more and more lively, and there are more and more bars of all kinds, if you like to be lively, then it is very suitable to live in the ancient city and wander slowly.

Dali Ancient City

Mother's night tour of the ancient city took a photo on crutches

Dali Ancient City

The most common in the ancient city is the flower cake shops, the most lively and most common of them are the three brands of Changyang Ji, Pan Xiangji and Jiahua, all three provide full free express delivery services, but the quota required by different brands is different, in 2018 when I was in Lijiang Shuhe Ancient Town, I bought Pan Xiangji's flower cakes, so this time I specially bought two other brands of flower cakes to try. Even if it is almost 10 o'clock in the evening, the flower shops of these brands are still queuing up to pay the bill~

Dali Ancient City

In addition to flower cakes, there are some other special pastries to choose from, which are good choices to buy as souvenirs

Dali Ancient City

Although these brands have online stores, the advantage of buying in physical stores is that there are tasting cakes, and the date of purchase can be seen, and some brands also provide "freshly made on the same day" flower cakes, of course, the shelf life is shorter is only 15 days

Dali Ancient City
Chongsheng Temple Three Pagodas - One Large, Two Small and Three Pavilions

The Three Pagodas Scenic Area is a scenic spot very close to the ancient city of Dali except for Cangshan Mountain and Tianlong Babu City. When I arrived in Dali in 2014, my friends and I visited the Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple and Tianjing Pavilion, but this time we did not visit again. If you haven't been there, it's still worth buying a ticket to get in.

Address: Sanwenbi Village, North Gate of Dali Ancient City, 10 minutes walk north from the north gate of Dali Ancient City

Time: 8:00-19:00

Tickets: 75 yuan

At that time, passing by the Dapeng Golden-winged Bird Square at the entrance of the scenic spot, we specially parked the car in the parking lot and walked to the square to take pictures of the three towers and the silver-gilt beaded golden-winged bird of Dali

Haihe Park - cannot be entered during repairs

Haihe Park and Xizhou Ancient Town are next to each other, suitable for checking in together. We drove from Dali Ancient City in the morning, first passing through Xizhou Ancient Town to Haihe Park. The entrance of Haihe Park is under repair, and the car can only drive near the gate, during which villagers come to collect parking fees. The wetlands around Haihe Park can be photographed, but you need to walk about 200 meters to go in or take a carriage in, considering that it is inconvenient for my mother to walk, so we chose to take a carriage in.

After getting off the carriage, everyone took a photo with the horse

Cloudy to sunny weather, The cascading clouds reflect on the water

Sea Tongue Eco Park Haishe Ecological Park At

least 5 nephews were found swimming around on the water surface at that time, making some noises from time to time

Because Haishe Park is closed for repairs, it basically doesn't stay here for a long time, about half an hour.

Xizhou Ancient Town - The First Town of the Bai Nationality
After

wandering around from Haihe Park, we found a rice field that was very suitable for taking pictures when we drove to the 033 township road on the way to Xizhou Ancient Town, and also witnessed many car rental riders standing on the roof of the car. This place was also on the hot search during the National Day, and the beautiful rice field that was trampled by tourists who checked

in Xizhou Xizhou Xizhou

Just in time, the sky was beautiful, and the layers of clouds gradually dispersed, allowing the sun to reveal its true colors

Xizhou Xizhou Xizhou

Compared with the liveliness of the ancient city of Dali, the ancient town of Xizhou is quieter. Xizhou Ancient Town is an important town inhabited by the Bai people, which has the most preserved and best Bai residential complex. From the layout point of view, it is a typical Bai courtyard pattern of "three squares and one wall" and "four in five courtyards".

Address: 18 kilometers north of Dali Ancient City

Tickets: Free

Parking: There are several parking lots in the ancient town, and the fee is basically 10 yuan/car for the first hour, and 2 yuan for every hour thereafter

Xizhou

Sifang Street in the center of Xizhou Ancient Town is actually a small square surrounded by shops, which is small but quite lively

Xizhou

Pass through this Hanlin archway to Sifang Street

Xizhou There

is a stone workshop erected on the square, which is the "Inscription Workshop", which was built after several Jinshi came out of the town in the Ming Dynasty. Xizhou was once a military town in Nanzhao and had a relatively developed culture.

Xizhou

"Inscription Workshop" The other side of the stone workshop is nominated for the four big characters "light before inspiration".There has always been a saying in Xizhou Ancient Town ~ there are eighty second-class Jinshi, and there are countless scholars and tributes, which shows that there were a lot of literati in Xizhou Town at that time

Xizhou

In Xizhou Ancient Town, there are four major families of " Yan, Dong, Yin, and Yang ", and these four families were exported overseas through the ancient tea horse road from the late period to the Republic of China, and their economic strength was almost the highest in Dali, and the strongest of the four families was the Yan family. The Yan family mansion is next to Sifang Street, and it is also the largest and most well-preserved Bai building in Xizhou Ancient Town. Admission requires 18 yuan.

Xizhou The

surrounding area of Sifang Street is mainly a few specialty shops, with Yunnan specialty accessories and food for sale

Xizhou

Compared with the modernization and commercialization of Dali Ancient City, Xizhou Ancient Town is more suitable for tourists to wander quietly, and it is recommended to stay in Xizhou Ancient Town for those who like quiet vacations

Xizhou The

promenade of an inn in the ancient town

Xizhou

Of course, there is no shortage of handicraft workshops in Xizhou Ancient Town, and the fragrance of roses in front of this store is fragrant

naturally a lot of cultural and creative products in Xizhou Ancient Town, and the cute cat ornaments attract me to stop as a cat lover

This store does handmade prints, as well as coffee desserts and peripheral cultural and creative products. It is also very pleasant to hold a cup of coffee upstairs and look at the streets of the ancient town in a daze

Xizhou

If you are particularly interested in tie-dyeing skills, you can find [Puzhen Tie-dye Museum], in Zhoucheng Village, Xizhou Ancient Town, is the national intangible cultural heritage Bai tie-dye protective production demonstration base, and is also China's first Bai tie-dye museum, covering tie-dye learning experience.

Xizhou

After talking about Xizhou Ancient Town, let's talk about another ancient town by Erhai Lake - [Shuanglang Ancient Town]

Shuanglang Ancient Town - Hanging Double Rainbow on a Sunny Day After the Rain

Speaking of the ancient town by Erhai Lake, since you have arrived in Xizhou, you have to mention Shuanglang. I arranged the two ancient towns of Xizhou and Shuanglang for two days, so that visiting an ancient town every day can be unhurried and suitable for wandering.

Shuanglang Ancient Town is located at the northeast end of Dali City, on the northeast bank of Erhai Lake, almost across the Erhai Lake from Xizhou Ancient Town, known as "the first town of Cang'er scenery", in Shuanglang Ancient Town you can go to Nanzhao Style Island to visit.

Address: 50 meters west of Dali 078 Township Road, overlooking Cangshan Mountain by Erhai Lake

Tickets: Free, take the shuttle bus in the scenic spot and pay separately

Parking: There are several parking lots in the scenic spot, and the fee is basically 10 yuan per car for the first hour, and 2 yuan for every hour thereafter

We specially chose to set off from the inn to Shuanglang Ancient Town in the afternoon when the sun was not so hot. At that time, we parked our car in the parking lot near the south gate and walked in. There is a long downhill slope in, which is obviously different from the gentle roads in Dali Ancient City and Xizhou Ancient Town, and the further you go, the more prosperous it becomes.

Shuanglang Scenic Area The

sun was still very strong at the beginning, and I didn't expect that it would not take long for a shower to usher in. I don't know if it was the cloud in the air that brought

it Shuanglang Scenic Area

Some tourists immediately raised their umbrellas, and we didn't bring umbrellas when we got out of the car. Seeing that the rain is getting heavier and heavier, we can only take shelter from the rain in front of a certain store

Shuanglang Scenic Area

Fortunately, the rain did not fall for long, The sun is coming out soon, and the stone pavement of the rainy streets has been

soaked Shuanglang Scenic Area

There are very few tourists on the road of Shuanglang Ancient Town near the evening, and the road of Shuanglang Ancient Town is much wider than Xizhou Ancient Town, and it looks more empty after the rain, and I like this quiet and comfortable rhythm very much

Shuanglang Scenic Area

Discover a young artist painting seriously on the side of the road

Shuanglang Scenic Area

When passing by the Yuji Floor Restaurant, I was attracted by the building itself and stopped. Not to mention at first glance, the architectural style of the Bai people is quite similar to the Hui school architecture, after all, they are all white as the main color, but the "pink mural wall" is one of the decorative characteristics of the Bai people's houses, and the Bai people have more architectural decorations, usually in the shape of the palace, and the cornices and corners are more domineering.

Shuanglang Scenic Area

Walk along the main road to Kuixing Pavilion. Shuanglang The Kuixing Pavilion in the ancient town has a total of 3 floors, and the 2nd floor of the attic is sculpted with the god Kui, and there is a saying that the god Kui points the pen, so local residents often go to pray for their children and grandchildren to succeed in their studies.

Shuanglang Scenic Area

The third floor is particularly stable and majestic according to the way of wide at the bottom and narrow at the top

lush and atmospheric

Shuanglang Scenic Area

We walked to Shuanglang Love Coast after dinner in the ancient town, and there are rows of shops and restaurants on the shore. Before the sun sets, this is a place where we meet tourists <

We encountered a rainbow hanging high after the rain on the love coast of Shuanglang Ancient Town. At that time, I could only see a rainbow, and if I hadn't looked back at these photos I took, I wouldn't have thought that we were encountering a double rainbow

Shuanglang Scenic Area

Double rainbow is a special phenomenon formed after two reflections in the water droplet, on the periphery of the original rainbow appears a concentric rainbow with a slightly larger diameter and color reversal, the inner rainbow is called the main rainbow, the outside is red and the inside is blue, the color will be brighter, and the outer rainbow is called the secondary rainbow, the outside is blue and the inside is red, the color will be darker. Do you see it?

Shuanglang Scenic Area

When the sun was almost setting, we came out of Shuanglang Ancient Town to pick up the car and return to the inn by Erhai Lake. I also met a different scenery of Erhai Lake from when the sun was shining during the day.

Erhai Lake - Self-driving around Erhai Lake is beautiful no matter how you look

Dali has four uniques, namely wind, flowers, snow and moon: the wind of Xiaguan, the flowers of Shangguan, the snow of Cangshan, and the moon of Erhai Lake.

In fact, Erhai Lake is not only looking at the moon, Erhai Lake under the blue sky and white clouds and Erhai Lake after the rain is really beautiful. That morning, we drove out of Dali Ancient City and drove along the Huan'er Sea Road to the town of Digging Colors opposite Dali Ancient City. From the beginning of passing through Zhongcun, the car walks along the water, and the blue sky and white clouds look particularly clear at Erhai Lake, and the scenery is really beautiful. I have seen Erhai Lake with blue skies and white clouds, and then look at Erhai Lake after the rain and clear skies. The sunlight shines through the clouds and shines on the surface of Erhai Lake, which seems to be extremely penetrating

Shuanglang Scenic Area

Standing on the shore, Watching the stones being washed away by the surface of Erhai Lake

afterglow left by the sun on the horizon before setting also reflects the afterglow of Erhai Lake. The increase in clouds in the sky seems to tell us that there will be a rain wash at night, but it unexpectedly brings another surprise

Erhai Lake Erhai Lake Erhai Lake At

night, a crescent moon hung in the sky of Dali, and many stars could be seen, and the rain waited until we fell asleep before quietly breaking in.

When we got up the next morning, we met a surprise again, did you find this surprise? Yes, the rainbow appeared in the sky of Dali again

During my three-day stay in Dali, considering that my parents were in Dali for the first time, I chose to stay in the ancient city of Dali for two nights, and then stayed at an inn by Erhai Lake in Diaose Town. Near the end of the summer vacation and entering the off-season, so the accommodation in the ancient city and town is not expensive, and the location is very good, and the overall cost performance is still very high.

inn room in the town is next to the Erhai Lake, and there is a balcony that is very suitable for watching the sea view of Erhai Lake

I stood on the balcony of the room and took a telephoto lens and took a picture of Xiao Putuo not far from the inn very smoothly. There are also the three pagodas of Chongsheng Temple that faintly appear opposite, and the surface of Erhai Lake is also rippling

Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture

Of course, the room has a balcony, in addition to the beautiful view of Erhai Lake... Simple ~ tea party... Although it is simple, the food is quite rich~~

After staying in Dali for three days, we set off for the next stop - Lugu Lake.

【Dali-Lugu Lake】

Driving from Dali to Lugu Lake, our route is: Dali Expressway - Lining Highway - Ninglu Highway, the journey is 350 kilometers, it takes about 6 hours. Among them, Lining Highway and Ninglu Highway are winding mountain roads, and the scenery along the way is very beautiful in good weather, but it is particularly easy to collapse on rainy days, so everyone must pay attention to safety if you go by car.

Lining Eighteen Bends - The winding mountain road around the Jinsha River is an excellent scenery
As

long as you take the Lining Highway to Lugu Lake, you will not miss this scene, and this is also the filming location of Zhang Yimou's movie "A Thousand Miles of Walking Alone".

Drive along the Lining Highway to Lugu Lake, and you will pass several eighteen bend observation decks along the way. As long as you want to take pictures, you can find a place to park near the observation deck. Next to the highway is the Jinsha River.

On the way to Lugu Lake, we passed a service area, many people may drive directly, in fact, there is in the service area" Sky Realm", this Internet celebrity attraction provides paid photography, of course, if you take pictures yourself, you don't need to pay.

Lijiang Lijiang
[Lugu Lake - teardrops dropped by the goddess Mosuo]

When I went to Yunnan in 2014 for a free trip, my friends and I had the idea of going to Lugu Lake, but we had to give up due to lack of time. And this time we put the second stop of the main itinerary on the beautiful Lugu Lake. Lugu Lake is a plateau fault dissolution and collapse lake, which is the highest lake in Yunnan Province and the third largest deep-water lake in China.

Address: The junction of Yanyuan County, Sichuan Province and Ninglang County, Yunnan Province, is under the joint jurisdiction of Sichuan and Yunnan. Hudong is Lugu Lake Town, Yanyuan County, Sichuan Province, and Huxi is Yongning Township, Ninglang County, Yunnan Province

Tickets: We entered from the entrance and exit in the direction of Lijiang, the original price is 70 yuan/person, before December 31, 2020 is half price that is, 35 yuan/person, we went in August to enjoy half price is very cost-effective

Others: The lake is 2685 meters above sea level, and the maximum water depth is more than 90 meters

Lugu Lake

The day I arrived at Lugu Lake was still a sunny day. After arriving at Lugu Lake and successfully checking the ticket at the gate, we drove into the scenic spot, and there is a parking lot near the entrance and exit, so focus on it! ! Don't miss the Lugu Lake Observation Deck near the entrance and exit. Standing on the observation deck of Lugu Lake, you can basically see the panoramic view of Lugu Lake.

Pig trough boat - the only means of transportation in the lake is pure manpower and pollution-free

The pig trough boat is called "day old" in the Mosuo language, but it is actually a canoe. Hollowed out by a thick log. Both ends are sharpened. It is named because it looks like a long pig trough. Lugu Lake is isolated from the world. The only means of transportation in the lake is the unique "pig trough boat" of the Mosuo people. The pig trough boat is rowed by 2-3 people (1 in the front and 1 in the back or 2 in the back 1) pure manpower, which greatly reduces the pollution of the lake water.

Going to Lugu Lake Pig Trough Boat is a must-experience project, of course, the weather must be good, and taking a pig trough boat to wander on the surface of Lugu Lake is the best experience. We went to Lugu Lake with blue skies and white clouds, and the lake surface was also very calm and even reflected the beautiful scenery of the sky. After we put our luggage in the room and took a short rest, we went to the pier to take the pig trough boat I had been longing for.

There are several wharves in Lugu Lake, and the main ones in Yunnan are Sanjiacun Wharf, Daluoshui Wharf, and Rigge Wharf, and each wharf has a pig trough boat to ride. The inn we stayed in was located between Daluoshui Village and Sanjia Village, very close to Sanjiacun Wharf, less than 5 minutes by car. There is a good place for taking pictures at the pier, and many tourists take photos here

Lugu Lake Lugu Lake Each

pig trough boat at Sanjiacun Wharf needs to take 8-12 people to sail, and we have to share the boat with others. So I waited for almost half an hour at the pier to gather all the people to set off

Price: 50 yuan/person to Rimubi Island, 80 yuan/person for the island tour

Time

: It takes about 1.5 hours to 2 hours to go back and forth to Limubi Island, and the island tour takes longer

River Island, Shevao Island and Rig Island are known as the three islands of Lugu Lake Penglai 。

Follow the uphill trail up the mountain, and on the way you can see the pig trough boats on the other side and in the lake through the trees on the island

The island is not large, and after disembarking, walk through a winding trail to the island, which can lead directly to the top of the island. At the end of the island is the Tibetan Buddhist Liwu Bi Monastery, and you will see three white pagodas before arriving at the temple

Around Lugu Lake - self-driving, chartered car is the best way
The

second day we arrived at Lugu Lake, we started a self-driving tour around the lake~

The

weather in Lugu Lake that day was not very good, especially the sky was drizzling in the morning, which was the rainy weather we really encountered on this trip. Because of the continuous widespread rain in Sichuan and Yunnan some time ago, many roads have collapsed, so we are also very careful while driving.

The

mileage of driving around Lugu Lake is about 70 kilometers, and the whole journey is a mountain road, passing through villages and towns around Lugu Lake on the way. Our general route is as follows:

[Sanjia Village] - [Daluoshui Village] - [Luoshui Lover's Beach] - [Rig Observation Deck] - [Rig Island] - [Sichuan-Yunnan Junction] - [Dabei Conch Jingtang] - [Luyuan Cliff] - [Ribai Lover's Beach] - [Shrine Platform] - [Good Snacks] - [Goddess Bay] - [Zaolo Wharf] - [Caohai] - [Walking Wedding Bridge] - [Langfang] - [Sanjia Village]

After reading the route, you will find that we did not go to the highest mountain of Lugu Lake - Gemu Goddess Mountain (also called Lion Rock) at an altitude of 3770 meters, because my mother had to use crutches or use a wheelchair because of a broken foot, which was really inconvenient to go up the mountain, and the weather was bad that day, so we gave up the plan to go to Gemu Goddess Mountain~ Although we did not climb to the top to see the lake, it is also a good experience to watch the lake view from other observation decks!Leave the Gem Goddess Mountain for climbing next time~

Lugu Lake Lugu Lake Every

year from May to October, there will be a beautiful scenery of water-based poplar flowers on the water surface of Lugu Lake, and of course, this beautiful scenery was also photographed by me

collapsed road that has just been opened to traffic near Langfang Village. There are several sections of this kind of road when driving around Lugu Lake, so if the weather is bad, you must pay attention to safety.

Lugu Lake
Luoshui Lover's Beach - one of the Lugu Lake Lover's Beach

When it comes to the lover's beach in Lugu Lake, the first reaction may be the lover's beach in the Sichuan section. In fact, there are two lover beaches in Lugu Lake, one is the Libai Lover's Beach in the Sichuan section, and the other is the Luoshui Lover's Beach in the Yunnan section, both are water-friendly stone beaches, if you have enough time, don't miss both Lover's Beach~

The first thing we passed out of the inn was Luoshui Lover's Beach, we parked our car in the open space opposite the Lover's Beach, and parking was free. At that time, the sky was drizzling with light rain, and there were still many tourists on the water-friendly stone beach, and there were stone sculptures engraved with the words "Lover's Beach" on the stone beach to take pictures~

Lugu Lake

Standing on the rocky beach facing the empty lake of Lugu Lake, I feel that the whole person is empty

Lugu Lake

Leaving Luoshui Lover's Beach, The car continued to the Rigg Observation Deck.

Rig Island - a beautiful seawall island

Rig Island, along with Ribby Island and Shevao Island, is known as the three islands of Lugu Lake Penglai. This is a must-check and photo spot around Lugu Lake. There is a Rigg Observation Deck near Rig Island, and there is a small number of parking spaces in front of the observation deck, so you can park your car and take photos. Standing on the observation deck and looking condescendingly, it seems to see a "❤".

Lugu Lake Lugu Lake

There is also a trail to go down on the right side of the observation deck, and at the end is a white pagoda, and there are many stones piled around the white pagoda.

Lugu Lake

The White Pagoda is a pagoda built in the Buddhist belief area and is also a spiritual pagoda, which has a special Buddhist meaning. The white pagoda visualizes the Buddhist idea of the four realms of "earth, fire, water and emptiness": the bottom layer is a solid square base, followed by water balls, fire cones and air supports, and the top layer symbolizes spiritual energy and spirit, symbolizing the never-ending reincarnation.

Lugu Lake Lugu Lake
Da Compassion Conch Sutra Hall - The largest temple in Lugu Lake

The local Mosuo beliefs are influenced by Tibetan Buddhism, and the [Xiaoluoshui Great Compassion Conch Sutra Hall] is the largest temple in the Lugu Lake Scenic Area. Go all the way up through the gate and follow the mountain road covered with prayer flags to reach the sutra hall

Lugu Lake Lugu Lake

Because the top of the mountain is facing the lake, it is also a very good place to watch the lake and take pictures

Lugu Lake

Photography is not allowed in the temple, and you need to take off your shoes to enter. The prayer tube outside the sutra hall has an excellent photo effect

Lugu Lake Lugu Lake

Next to the scripture hall on the top of the mountain, there is the Yang Erche Nam Museum, she is a singer who went out from Lugu Lake, and you need to buy a ticket to visit it.

Sichuan-Yunnan Junction - Vivid Statues and Introduction to Lugu Lake

Continuing around the lake to the junction of Sichuan and Yunnan, this is also a more distinctive scene of Lugu Lake. Passing through here officially entered Sichuan.

Luyuan Cliff - the source of Lugu Lake water

Luyuan Cliff is the location of the outlet of the groundwater of Lugu Lake, which is the deepest place in Lugu Lake, with a depth of more than 90 meters. There is a huge mani pile on the cliff, and countless prayer flags are wrapped around the cliff wall.

Lugu Lake

Luyuan Cliff is 2722 meters above sea level, and the observation deck overlooks the beautiful scenery of Lugu Lake, and is surrounded by fluttering prayer flags. A special scenery

Libai Lover's Beach - Lugu Lake Lover's Beach No. 2

After getting off the Luyuan Cliff Observation Deck, you can go to Libai Lover's Beach after passing through Dazu Wharf. Ribai Lover's Beach is the main place for the Mosuo people to turn mountains and seas every year, and it is a good place for young men and women to talk about love. Ribai Lover's Beach is larger than Luoshui Lover's Beach, and of course there are more tourists.

Lugu Lake

Water-based poplar flowers are scattered on the water surface in front of Lover's Beach. There is a pig trough boat shape in front of the rocky beach for photos. There is a pontoon bridge on the water to walk on.

Lugu Lake
Shrine Platform - a must-pass to Goddess Bay

If you go to Lugu Lake, you will definitely go to Goddess Bay, and if you go to Goddess Bay, you will definitely pass by the god platform. This is the altar of the Mosuo people, and every year during the "Turning the Sea Festival" and "Turning the Mountain Festival", the Mosuo people will come here with their families to worship the mother sea Lugu Lake and the Gemu Goddess Mountain.

Zaolo Wharf - a good place to visit Caohai by pig trough boat

Before heading to the wedding bridge, We first drove to Zaolo Wharf

Lugu Lake

The pier also has a very obvious pig trough boat shape, where you can also take a pig trough boat, Mainly to visit the grass sea.

Lugu Lake Lugu Lake

When we arrived, the sky was drizzling with a little rain, and the dark clouds on the plateau looked like clumps

Lugu Lake There

were few tourists at the pier at that time, and we also sat on the pig trough boat docked on the shore and took a few photos

Lugu Lake From the

pier, walk back to the Marriage Bridge

Caohai Marriage Bridge - a place where the Mosuo people are dating

The Marriage Bridge is the only bridge located in the Caohai area of Lugu Lake, and the water depth under the bridge has become shallow due to the accumulation of sediment for many years, and there are dense reeds, which look like a sea of grass from a distance, so the locals call it "Grass Sea". The Marriage Bridge is a place where Mosuo men and women date, and the Mosuo people on the shore of Lugu Lake pursue the custom of "marriage" of "men do not marry, women do not marry". This scenery is also a very famous place in Lugu Lake, and you must not miss it when you arrive at Lugu Lake.

Lugu Lake The

Marriage Bridge is not far from Luguhu Town, about half an hour's walk, and it can be reached in a few minutes by car.

Lugu Lake

Traditionally, during the day, adult Mosuo men and women express their feelings to their loved ones by dancing and singing at parties. If a man falls in love with a woman, he will make an appointment with a woman during the day and go to the woman's "flower building" (referring to the room of an adult woman in Mosuo) in the middle of the night. Here, men call female lovers "Axia" and women call male lovers "Azhu". As night fell, the "Azhu" who went to the appointment came and went on the wedding bridge.

Eat in Lugu Lake - "Dear Inn" The same Internet celebrity snack

When it comes to the food of Lugu Lake, what impresses me the most is this very inconspicuous but attracting many donkey friends to check in - Good Man Snacks, if you watch the first season of "Dear Inn", then you must have an impression of it.In the 8th episode of that season, Liu Tao and Wang Ke checked in to this store --

Lugu Lake Lugu Lake

Good Man Snacks is located near Lugu Lake Goddess Bay in Yanyuan County, Liangshan, Sichuan, when we drove over, we passed several collapse points, and the safety notices on the side of the road all reminded us that "please turn around if the road collapses ahead", but we still successfully found his home. Everyone should pay special attention to safety in the past. The door of the good man snack is extremely simple, but fortunately, a few words are still very conspicuous. The car can be parked directly at the door, and there were not many customers when we went that day, so parking was very convenient.

Lugu Lake The

first thing you see when you go in is a lot of flags for donkey friends and riders.

Lugu Lake Lugu Lake Lugu Lake Lugu Lake

Good people snacks don't need to order their own food, 40 yuan/person (previously 30 yuan/person) Each person is 4 dishes, a sugar mixed tomato, A stir-fried vegetable, a matsutake mushroom stewed chicken, a matsutake mushroom stewed lake fish, all the dishes are not enough, you can add more, and they are all freshly made.

Lugu Lake

The boss's name is Zhao Fahao, who is a person who speaks and does things, of course, some people say that his personality is very eccentric. There are several very domineering quotes:

1. You smell this chili noodles, I have added matsutake mushrooms in it, you must dip it in this local chicken to eat, whether it is local chicken I said it doesn't count, you eat it delicious (at this time, you also showed us what matsutake mushrooms are, let us smell them)

2. Don't ask me for rice, I will tell you when it's time to eat rice. You don't have to worry, I've been doing it for so many years, and I have a way to ensure that you are satisfied.

3. You eat slowly, and when there are fish you have never eaten in your life, you are guaranteed to eat it and still want to eat it. Actor Liu Tao ate with me for a week before.

4. I will bring you a new bowl to serve this fish soup, you drink the fish soup first and taste what it is delicious. My fish soup doesn't add a little chicken essence, monosodium glutamate and green onion and garlic, you can go inside to find it, if you can find it, I guarantee to compensate you 100,000 yuan. My fish soup is made with water made from matsutake mushrooms, so it doesn't need to be seasoned at all, it's very fragrant. Once in Zhejiang , there was a boss who paid 200,000 yuan to buy my secret recipe for this dish, and I didn't sell it. After drinking this bowl of fish soup, you can go over there to serve your own rice, and it is like going to your own home, and if you don't have enough food, you can add it.

Lugu Lake Lugu Lake

Putting aside these classic quotes of the boss, his matsutake chicken and matsutake fish do taste quite good, and you won't feel dry after eating, but the feeling of freshness in your lips and teeth. It is not far from the restaurant to the beautiful Goddess Bay. So if you go to Lugu Lake, don't forget to try this Internet celebrity snack if you have the opportunity.

Stay in Lugu Lake - a quiet inn with a garden and cute dog service If

you are traveling to Lugu Lake for the first time, I personally recommend staying near Daluoshui Village, because Daluoshui Village is the most prosperous place in Lugu Lake, the hotel inn is more selective, the transportation is relatively convenient, there are many places to eat, and the pharmacy can also be found in special times, and there is a Chinese rural credit cooperative in the village to facilitate withdrawal.

Although this is my third trip to Yunnan, Lugu Lake is my first time. At that time, in the choice of accommodation in Lugu Lake before departure, I considered that people would be more tired from driving from Dali to Lugu Lake because of the long drive on the winding mountain road, so I chose to live near Daluoshui Village, so that after driving from Lugu Lake near the entrance of the scenic spot in Lijiang, it only takes 10 minutes to get to the inn, which is very convenient, and we return from Lugu Lake and leave very quickly. This inn is adjacent to Sanjia Village and Daluoshui Village, and is called [Lugu Lake Inn].

The car is parked directly at the door of the inn, pushing the door into a hidden small courtyard, as long as the staying guests are friends, everyone can sit and drink tea and chat, talk about their hometown, talk about the customs they have seen on the road, and talk about future travel plans.

Lugu Lake Inn of that year Lugu Lake Inn of that year Lugu Lake Inn of that year Lugu Lake Inn of that year Lugu Lake Inn The

inn provides paid meals that can be ordered, as well as hand-brewed coffee, and has an independent small restaurant facing Lugu Lake. Overall very comfortable.

Lugu Lake Inn

The boss has two very close cute dogs Alaska , one is a female dog called Chirp and the other is a male dog called Pippi, don't misunderstand that they are a couple, in fact, it may be a brotherly steel friendship - in fact, they just don't look down on each other~~~ The few days we arrived, the boss happened to take Pippi to Lijiang, but unfortunately I didn't see Pippi, only Chirping in the inn to give us casually. Chirp is very well-behaved and won't break into the room, usually sleeping on his stomach, but as long as you have food, Chirp can quickly follow.

Lugu Lake Inn of that year Lugu Lake Inn

The inn has a total of 3 floors, and the yard and check-in are on the second floor, and there are not many rooms overall. Considering that my mother's feet are inconvenient to climb the stairs, I specially booked a flat-floor room, the room we stayed in was relatively large, I communicated with the boss in advance to ask him to put away the small tent in the original parent-child area, and it was more than enough to lay two open suitcases and my camera bag.

Lugu Lake Inn

The room has a large balcony facing Lugu Lake, although the inn does not directly face the lake, but the lake view angle is still very good, and it also effectively avoids excessive humidity and excessive noise. The service of the innkeeper is very good, as soon as he arrives in the room, he will introduce us to the whole picture of Lugu Lake and suggested tour routes, and also provide pick-up and drop-off services to Daluoshui Village and Sanjia Village Wharf, praise!

Lugu Lake Inn That Year

On the day we arrived, we took the pig trough boat back to the inn, taking advantage of the sun before it set. I set up a tripod on the balcony of my room and took this photo of Lugu Lake (the original picture is 170M, there is a limit to uploading, and the clarity is compressed)

Lugu Lake On the

first night of Lugu Lake, taking advantage of the good weather, I also took pictures of the starry sky of Lugu Lake~~

Lugu Lake Inn that year Lugu Lake Inn

Time is limited, and the beautiful scenery cannot be taken away and can only be left in memories. Looking forward to seeing you again in the next round!!

Easter egg - National Geographical Indication Huaping County Mango

Written at the end of this self-driving trip, it is an easter egg~

On

the way back to Changsha from Lugu Lake, it was almost 5 hours of winding road down the mountain, of which the highest altitude was more than 3,200 meters. On the way back, we also passed through the "sea of clouds", as if walking on the clouds.

Huaping

On the way down the mountain, we passed through Huaping County, the largest mango-producing county in Yunnan Province, and Huaping mango is still a national geographical indication product of China , mango orchards full of mountains, many fruit farmers along the way are selling mangoes with simple sheds, the price is not expensive, basically 2-3 yuan a catty, buy more and have discounts.

If it weren't for the self-driving tour, we would definitely not have passed by here, and we would not have had the opportunity to sit in the sheds of local fruit farmers, spend more than half an hour with them, let alone taste the high-quality Sacred Heart mangoes, which are native to Huaping County.Sitting in the shed, the fruit farmer enthusiastically cut several Sacred Heart mangoes for us to taste, full of flesh and juicy flavor, and finally when we left, we also bought some mangoes in the orchard to take away. As a super mango control, I feel that the biggest regret is that I can't take away this big orchard~~~

Huaping Huaping Huaping Huaping Huaping
END

The self-driving tour took 8.5 days and covered more than 4,100 kilometers. The highest altitude we passed was the winding mountain road down Lugu Lake, which was more than 3,200 meters above sea level. Self-driving is relatively slow and the body is easier to adapt, so there is basically no need to worry about high reactions, of course, everyone's physical condition will be different. If you have a history of motion sickness, you should be careful, after all, the mountain road to Lugu Lake is really really winding~

If you are also planning to travel to Yunnan, I hope this article can help you~
