Lido Beach Resort question

Has anyone recently stayed at the Lido Beach Resort at the Tiki Tower building?

Past reviews of that building have not been the best, needing updating etc.. Whereas the Palm Towers has had great reviews. But there is quite a difference in price. Is the additional amount for the Palm Towers worth the expense? This is our first time to Lido Key and we're looking for a great experience.

Thank you for your input!

The Lido Beach Resort on Lido Key offers two main tower options: Tiki Tower and Palm Towers. Both are oceanfront, but there are notable differences in amenities, room updates, and overall guest experience.

The Tiki Tower has historically received mixed reviews. Some guests mention that the rooms and common areas feel dated and could benefit from renovations. While the location is excellent and provides beach access, you may encounter older furnishings, carpeting, and bathrooms that are not as modern as in Palm Towers. For budget-conscious travelers, it can still provide a comfortable stay, especially if you plan to spend most of your time outdoors on the beach or exploring the area.

Palm Towers, on the other hand, consistently receives higher reviews for newer, recently updated rooms with modern décor, upgraded appliances, and more contemporary bathrooms. Guests frequently comment on the aesthetic appeal, comfort, and overall experience of staying in Palm Towers. The extra cost is often considered worth it for those seeking a more polished, resort-style experience, especially for first-time visitors wanting a memorable stay.

  • Tiki Tower: More affordable, older décor, basic amenities, oceanfront access, decent for short stays or budget travelers.
  • Palm Towers: Higher price, modernized rooms, updated furnishings, more luxurious feel, likely better value for comfort and aesthetics.

Additional factors to consider include your priorities for your stay. If your main goal is to spend time on the beach, at the pool, or exploring Sarasota and Lido Key, Tiki Tower can be sufficient. If you value upgraded accommodations, resort-like comfort, and a more visually appealing room, Palm Towers is likely worth the extra cost.

  • Consider the type of vacation: family-focused, relaxation, or aesthetic experience.
  • Check for any current renovation updates to Tiki Tower; some rooms may have been upgraded recently.
  • Look at the specific amenities: Palm Towers may offer better in-room features such as modern appliances, enhanced views, and updated bathrooms.

In summary, for a first-time visit where comfort, style, and overall impression are priorities, many guests find the additional expense for Palm Towers to be worth it. However, for budget-conscious travelers who are more focused on beach and outdoor activities, Tiki Tower remains a viable option.
