Spring Break Q
We're adults taking a holiday in Fort Lauderdale 31 March thru 10 April and I wondered if it will still be busy with the spring break crowds or will it have calmed down by this point?
We're staying on N FL Beach Blvd (just above Four Seasons)
Visiting Fort Lauderdale from March 31 through April 10 is actually a smart timing if you want to avoid the peak of spring break crowds. Here’s what you can expect in detail:
Spring Break in Fort Lauderdale:
The busiest period for spring break in Fort Lauderdale is typically mid-March through the last weekend of March. By March 31, most of the college students have already returned home. Therefore, when you arrive, the crowds should have significantly thinned out.
Here are some points to consider:
- Hotels on North Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd (near the Four Seasons) will be much calmer after the peak spring break period. You’ll likely notice fewer young party crowds and less rowdy behavior on the beach.
- Restaurants, bars, and beach bars will be more relaxed, making it easier to get reservations and enjoy a quieter experience.
- Beach traffic and parking will also be easier, giving you a more enjoyable walking and exploring experience along the shoreline.
Other considerations:
- While the main spring break crowd will have dispersed, there may still be some tourists from schools with later breaks, but this will be minimal compared to peak spring break.
- The weather in early April is generally excellent — warm but not scorching, and water temperatures are pleasant for swimming.
- If you enjoy outdoor activities like walking along the beach, visiting Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, or exploring Las Olas Boulevard, you’ll find it much more peaceful than the chaos of mid-March.
In summary, your stay from March 31 to April 10 should be quite comfortable, with the beach and city atmosphere returning to a calmer, more enjoyable vibe after the peak of spring break.
