Charlevoix/Petoskey

Question

We are returning to Mackinaw Island this summer. Last year we stayed 2 nights in Petoskey.

We'd like to find a place in either town on the canal/lake for a few nights. Suggestions for places on the water to stay, and is 2 nights too many?
