Place of Birth

The place of birth mentioned in Passport is DELHI DELHI, however while filling the PAR only DELHI was entered from the drop-down menu. The PAR is successful. Will it be of any issue?

If your Passport mentions your place of birth as “DELHI DELHI” but in the Hong Kong Pre-arrival Registration (PAR) you selected only “DELHI” from the drop-down menu and your PAR was successfully submitted, this is generally not a cause for concern. The PAR system is designed to accept standard city entries and minor variations like this are common.

Important points to note:

  • Immigration officers primarily verify your identity through your passport number, full name, and date of birth, not the exact format of the place of birth.
  • Minor discrepancies, such as repeating the city or leaving out the state/province, are typically tolerated and should not prevent entry.
  • Keep your passport and PAR confirmation handy when you arrive, in case officers ask for any clarification, though it is unlikely to be an issue.

In short, having “DELHI” instead of “DELHI DELHI” in your PAR is not expected to create problems, and you can proceed with your travel plans.
