Exit station in Shenzhen Louhu Commercial

Travelling by fast train from Kowloon West to Shenxhen Louhu Commercial Centre , instead of the Metro, for the first time. Before I would have walked out and been across the road from Louhu Commercial Shopping Centre (going eyewear shopping), but looking at the fast train map it looks boggling. What would my station choice be please or the station connections? Thanks.

When travelling from Kowloon West in Hong Kong to the Shenzhen Luohu Commercial Centre using the fast train (commonly referred to as the high-speed rail or cross-border train), it is important to note that the station setup is slightly different from using the regular MTR metro system.

The primary cross-border train service from Hong Kong to Shenzhen departs from the Hong Kong West Kowloon Station. This station serves the high-speed rail that connects directly to various cities in mainland China, including Shenzhen.

For your destination, which is the Luohu Commercial Centre in Shenzhen, the closest fast train station is Shenzhen Railway Station (commonly referred to as Luohu Station). This station is directly connected to the Luohu Commercial Centre and the nearby Luohu shopping district, making it very convenient for shopping, especially eyewear shopping.

Here are the steps and connections to reach Luohu Commercial Centre via fast train:

  • Start at Hong Kong West Kowloon Station and purchase a ticket for Shenzhen (Luohu/Shenzhen Railway Station).
  • Go through Hong Kong departure immigration and security checks at West Kowloon Station.
  • Board the fast train; the journey to Shenzhen Luohu Station is approximately 15–20 minutes.
  • Upon arrival at Shenzhen Luohu Station, pass through mainland China immigration and customs.

Once you have cleared immigration at Shenzhen Luohu Station, the Luohu Commercial Centre is immediately adjacent to the station exit. You can either walk directly into the shopping centre or follow the clearly marked pedestrian routes connecting the station to the commercial area.

Additional tips for a smooth journey:

  • Ensure your travel documents (passport, visa if required) are ready for both Hong Kong exit and China entry checks.
  • If you have large luggage, allow a few extra minutes for handling and walking through immigration.
  • Consider purchasing tickets online in advance for convenience and to avoid queues at West Kowloon Station.

Using the fast train to Shenzhen Luohu Station is the most direct and convenient option for accessing the Luohu Commercial Centre without needing further metro transfers.
