Hi
We def plan to do a Warner bros tour next week. President’s day would be a good option since it’s one of the few sites open on Mondays. But I recall someone saying better to go on a weekday when there’s filming going on. I thought if there’s filming you wouldn’t have access to those sets? Is there a big difference between going weekday vs weekend (well, holiday)
Thx
The Warner Bros. Studio Tour in Los Angeles is a popular attraction and deciding when to go can affect your experience. Here are some considerations for weekday vs. weekend or holiday visits:
Weekdays, especially non-holiday weekdays, can offer a quieter experience with fewer crowds. If you go on a weekday, you also have a higher chance of seeing actual filming in progress. However, when filming occurs on a set, that specific set or area may be off-limits for the tour for safety and privacy reasons. The tour guides are skilled at showing alternative areas and explaining what’s happening, so you still get a behind-the-scenes feel, but some access may be restricted.
Weekends and holidays, including President’s Day, tend to be busier with larger tour groups. While there might be less filming on weekends, the tour may be more congested, which can affect your ability to move around freely and see exhibits at your own pace. However, all standard tour areas are generally open, so you won’t miss the core highlights like the backlot, soundstages, and iconic sets.
Here’s a breakdown of the trade-offs:
Additional tips:
In summary, if seeing filming in action is a priority and you don’t mind possible minor restrictions on access, a weekday is ideal. If you prefer a predictable, full-access tour and are okay with crowds, a weekend or holiday works well. Either option provides a rich behind-the-scenes Hollywood experience.
