Uber/shuttles to disney

I heard taking a Uber to Disney land/and adventure park is a nightmare. They drop unoff far away bcus can't get passed security gates and have to walk far. True? Is it possible to go to a hotel and pay them for their shuttles (even if your not staying at that hotel)?

It’s true that using Uber or Lyft to Disneyland can be a bit tricky. Guests cannot be dropped off right at the park entrances due to security and traffic control, so rideshare drop-offs are at designated areas on the outskirts of the resort. From there, you typically have a short walk to the security checkpoints before entering the parks.

The actual distance from the Uber/Lyft drop-off to the park entrance is usually manageable—roughly a 5–10 minute walk—but it can feel longer if you are carrying kids, strollers, or lots of gear. During peak times, expect some congestion and lines to enter security, which can add extra time.

  • Uber/Lyft drop-off is at the designated Disneyland Resort/Rideshare pickup zone on Disneyland Drive, not right at the gate.
  • Security screening is required for everyone, which adds a few minutes to your walk-in time.
  • Expect some crowding during mornings, evenings, or weekends, which can make the walk feel longer.

Regarding hotel shuttles, Disneyland Resort has partnerships with many nearby hotels, but most shuttles are reserved for guests staying at that specific hotel. Paying to use a shuttle without being a guest is generally not possible. Some nearby hotels do offer paid shuttles for non-guests, but these are rare and usually limited to group bookings or special arrangements. Your safest bet is to either:

  • Stay at a Disneyland Resort hotel, which guarantees walking distance or shuttle access to both parks.
  • Use a nearby Good Neighbor hotel with included shuttle service if you book a room there.
  • Use rideshare or drive yourself and park at the Disneyland Resort parking lots, which are a short walk or tram ride to the park entrances.

For convenience and to minimize walking, staying within walking distance to the parks is usually more comfortable, especially with children or lots of gear. Rideshares work fine, but expect a short walk and potential crowding at security.
