Where to play pickleball in HK

I will be in Hong Kong for 2 months and would like to play pickleball during my stay. Does anyone know of any clubs or community centres that offer drop-in sessions? I have emailed hkpickleball.com but have not received a response. The few clubs I found on the internet require memberships so I am unable to play there. Thank you.

Hong Kong has a growing pickleball community, but most established clubs operate on a membership basis. However, there are a few ways you can access drop-in sessions or casual play without committing to a membership.

Options for playing pickleball in Hong Kong:

  • Some public sports centres occasionally host pickleball sessions. These include facilities managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), such as the Shun Lee Tsuen Sports Centre or Kwai Chung Sports Ground. Check their online booking system or call in advance to confirm schedules.
  • Community groups often organize informal drop-in sessions in parks or outdoor courts. Examples include Victoria Park and Kowloon Park, where local enthusiasts sometimes set up temporary nets. Social media groups or the HK Pickleball Facebook group are good places to find these sessions.
  • Some private clubs allow casual visitors for a fee, even if they require membership for regular access. You can try emailing or calling to see if they permit single-day drop-in play.

Tips for solo visitors:

  • Join online pickleball forums or Facebook groups for Hong Kong. Players often coordinate meetups, and this can be a way to find drop-in partners.
  • Bring your own equipment, especially a portable net, if you want to play in parks or open courts.
  • Check local community centres’ notice boards or websites for special sports events—they sometimes include pickleball workshops or open play days.

Overall, while permanent membership clubs dominate the scene, with a bit of networking through online groups and LCSD sports centres, you should be able to find casual or drop-in pickleball opportunities during your 2-month stay.
