Already anxious…

So I have a 5 and 6 year old (Star Wars fans) who desperately want to go to the Millenium falcon ride and rise of the resistance but also want to hit up the droid depot. One child has a disability so we have a DAS pass. We want to go on pretty much every ride. I’m getting anxious already about a plan. I’ve watched videos, read the forum and looked at maps but just worried about things timing wise and order to do things… any help would be so appreciated!

Visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge with young kids and a DAS pass can definitely feel overwhelming, but with a bit of structure, you can hit all the key rides and experiences while keeping the day manageable and fun.

General Tips:

  • Use the DAS pass strategically: It allows you to wait for rides without standing in line. Request return times as soon as you enter the park for popular rides like Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon.
  • Arrive early: Park opening is key, especially for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Even with a DAS pass, getting in early gives you more flexibility and less stress.
  • Plan meals around busy ride times: Breakfast or lunch at off-peak times can reduce wait times for food and keep energy up for rides.

Ride and Activity Strategy:

  • Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run – Very popular; request a DAS return time first thing. It’s interactive and fun for the kids.
  • Rise of the Resistance – Also extremely popular. Request a DAS return for this immediately, as times can fill quickly. Ride later in the day if possible.
  • Droid Depot – Consider booking a reservation in advance if the kids want to build a droid. This can be a fun break between rides and avoid long lines.
  • Smaller rides and attractions – Include favorites like Millennium Falcon Cargo Bay, Star Wars: Secrets of the Galaxy (if available), and themed play areas. These are usually less crowded and allow downtime.

Suggested Order (Flexible with DAS):

  • Start your day at Galaxy’s Edge. Request DAS return times for Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon first.
  • Explore the area, do smaller attractions, and get food or drinks while waiting for your DAS return times.
  • Go to Droid Depot for a mid-morning or early afternoon activity; book a reservation if possible.
  • Ride Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run when your DAS window opens.
  • Ride Rise of the Resistance at the scheduled DAS return time.
  • Finish the day with repeat favorites, small rides, or shows in other park areas as energy allows.

Additional Tips:

  • Use the Disneyland app to monitor wait times, DAS return windows, and virtual queue updates.
  • Take breaks often—there are shaded areas, snack spots, and themed shops that offer quiet downtime.
  • Pack essentials for the kids, especially if one has a disability, including snacks, water, and comfort items.
  • Be flexible—sometimes swapping the order of rides is necessary based on DAS availability or crowd patterns.

By planning DAS return times first, staggering rides and activities, and keeping meals and breaks in mind, you can cover all major Star Wars attractions without over-stressing yourself or the kids.
