Airport Express bus A11

Good afternoon,

To all you transfer experts, do the stops on the A11 have numbers displayed as next stop etc?

We are staying at the Ibis Hong Kong Central & Shung Wan Hotel and are wondering what stop number we should be looking to get off the bus at.

Many thanks

Craig

The A11 Airport Express bus in Hong Kong is a convenient way to travel between Hong Kong International Airport and various stops on Hong Kong Island. Here’s what you need to know regarding stops and how to identify where to get off:

Bus Stop Numbering and Display

  • The A11 bus does have an electronic display inside showing the next stop and sometimes the subsequent stops. The display usually cycles through the major stops along the route.
  • There are also announcements in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English that announce upcoming stops, so you can rely on these rather than looking for stop numbers specifically.
  • Stops themselves are not numbered in a sequential way visible from the bus; the important reference is the stop name.

Stop for Ibis Hong Kong Central & Sheung Wan

  • Your hotel is closest to the Sheung Wan section of the A11 route. The recommended stop is “Sheung Wan (Des Voeux Road West / Wing Lok Street)”.
  • After getting off, it’s usually a short walk to the Ibis hotel. You can check with the driver if uncertain—they are generally helpful and understand hotel names.
  • If you want, you can also use Google Maps or the KMB app to track the bus in real-time and ensure you get off at the correct stop.

Tips for First-Time Riders

  • Board the bus from the airport with your Octopus card or cash ready for payment.
  • Keep an eye on the electronic display and listen to the announcements so you don’t miss your stop.
  • If traveling with luggage, make sure to place your bags in the designated luggage area at the front of the bus.

Overall, while stops are not numbered sequentially, the combination of announcements, display, and asking the driver ensures you can easily identify your stop for the Ibis Hong Kong Central & Sheung Wan Hotel.
