Visit to Hong Kong during May'25

We are planning to visit HK during 5-9th May'25. Will there be too much of raining? Appreciate helpful response

Hong Kong in early May is generally warm and humid, as it falls within the late spring season. The weather can be quite variable, with a mix of sunny, cloudy, and rainy days.

Rainfall:

  • May is the start of the rainy season in Hong Kong, so occasional showers or thunderstorms are common, but they are usually short-lived.
  • The average monthly rainfall in May is around 300 mm, with roughly 10–15 rainy days throughout the month.
  • Rain is often more intense in the afternoon or evening, so mornings can still be suitable for outdoor activities.

Temperature and Humidity:

  • Daytime temperatures typically range from 23°C to 28°C (73°F to 82°F), and evenings can be slightly cooler.
  • Humidity levels are relatively high, often above 70%, which can make the weather feel warmer.

Tips for visiting:

  • Carry a small umbrella or light raincoat to manage short showers.
  • Plan indoor activities (museums, shopping malls, or Hong Kong Disneyland) as backups for rainy periods.
  • Stay hydrated and wear light, breathable clothing due to humidity and warmth.

Overall, while you may encounter some rain, it is unlikely to significantly disrupt your plans. Hong Kong’s infrastructure and indoor attractions make it easy to enjoy your trip even with occasional showers.
