From Royal Plaza Hotel to macau outer harbour ferry terminal

How to go from Royal Plaza Hotel to Macau outer Harbour ferry terminal?

I'm a bit confused researching this ...apparently 2 options: either from china ferry teriminal in Kowloon station and another one from Sheung Wan station. which one is better? i need to be in Macau outer harbour ferry terminal. appreciate yr comments-thank u!

1--MTR: Take the MTR from Mong Kok East Station to Kowloon Station (one stop), then walk to the China Ferry Terminal.

then Ferry to Macau:

TurboJET: TurboJET operates frequent ferries from the China Ferry Terminal to the Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal. The journey takes about an hour

2--Cotai Water Jet from Sheung Wan: You can also take the MTR to Sheung Wan Station and then catch a Cotai Water Jet ferry to the Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal. This may involve an extra step of transferring from the hotel.

To travel from Royal Plaza Hotel in Mong Kok to the Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal, you have two main options via ferry. Here's a detailed comparison to help you decide:

1. Via China Ferry Terminal (Kowloon Station / Tsim Sha Tsui)

  • From Royal Plaza Hotel, you can walk a short distance to Mong Kok East Station (or Mong Kok Station depending on the route) and take the MTR to Kowloon Station. This usually involves one or two train changes, depending on your starting station.
  • From Kowloon Station, it is about a 5–10 minute walk to the China Ferry Terminal.
  • Ferries from China Ferry Terminal to Macau Outer Harbour are operated by TurboJET. The journey typically takes around 55–60 minutes.
  • This route is convenient if you prefer a straightforward ferry without extra transfers. TurboJET ferries are frequent, and the boarding process is well-organized.

2. Via Sheung Wan (Cotai Water Jet)

  • From Royal Plaza Hotel, take the MTR to Sheung Wan Station. This usually requires a transfer on the Island Line.
  • From Sheung Wan Station, you need to either walk or take a short taxi ride to the Cotai Water Jet terminal. The exact location depends on the operator’s boarding point.
  • The Cotai Water Jet provides ferries to Macau Outer Harbour as well, but schedules may be slightly less frequent than TurboJET from Kowloon.
  • This option might be less convenient because it requires a longer MTR ride with a transfer, plus the final leg from Sheung Wan to the terminal.

3. Recommendation:

  • For speed and simplicity, the route via Kowloon Station and China Ferry Terminal is generally better. It involves fewer transfers, is well-serviced, and has more frequent ferry departures.
  • If you are coming from the western side of Hong Kong Island or prefer a quieter terminal, the Sheung Wan route is possible but less straightforward.

4. Additional tips:

  • Arrive at the ferry terminal at least 30 minutes before departure to allow time for immigration and boarding.
  • Check the ferry schedule in advance, especially on weekends or holidays, as ferries can fill up quickly.
  • If you have luggage or travel with a group, consider taking a taxi directly from your hotel to the China Ferry Terminal to save time and simplify transfers.

In summary, for travelers staying at Royal Plaza Hotel aiming to reach Macau Outer Harbour efficiently, the Kowloon/China Ferry Terminal route with TurboJET is typically the preferred option.
