Where to best fit in some time at Causeway Bay

I'm keen to see Causeway Bay - I understand it shows a modern side of Hong Kong. I'm not sure though where it would best fit in my itinerary as a late afternoon/early evening activity for around 2-3hrs.

Option A - at the end of a day that includes a walking tour in Sham Shui Po which ends 12.30pm, followed by visiting Monster Building and Wan Chai (markets, Blue House, Pak Tai temple, Bauhinia statue, Lee Tung Avenue)

Option B - at end of a day that visits Lantau Bay + Tai O

Option C - at end of a day visiting Cheung Chau Island

Option D - at end of a day visiting Ocean Park.

I haven't yet fully investigated Options B - D so I don't know if these need full days on those activities alone, or not. I was going to fit it in at the end of Option A but I think this might end up being too long a day.

Apppreciate any insights.

Causeway Bay is one of Hong Kong's busiest shopping and entertainment districts, offering a glimpse of the city's modern, fast-paced lifestyle. Fitting 2-3 hours there works well for an evening visit, especially if you focus on key streets, malls, and perhaps a few local eateries or dessert spots.

Considering your options:

  • Option A (Sham Shui Po + Monster Building + Wan Chai): This already covers a lot, including traveling between neighborhoods. Adding Causeway Bay at the end might make the day long and tiring, especially with walking and public transport involved. However, if you are energetic and want a contrast between old Hong Kong (Sham Shui Po) and the modern vibe of Causeway Bay, it could work.
  • Option B (Lantau + Tai O): Lantau Island, including the Big Buddha and Tai O fishing village, can easily take most of the day. By the time you return to the city, it might be late for a meaningful visit to Causeway Bay.
  • Option C (Cheung Chau Island): Cheung Chau is a small island and usually a half-day trip. Returning in the late afternoon could allow you to visit Causeway Bay comfortably, making this a good option.
  • Option D (Ocean Park): Ocean Park is a full-day commitment with rides and animal exhibits. Visiting Causeway Bay afterward would likely be too rushed and exhausting.

Additional tips for Causeway Bay:

  • Focus on main streets like Hennessy Road, Lee Gardens, and Times Square for shopping and ambiance.
  • Consider a light dinner or dessert at a local cafĂ© while you stroll.
  • Use the MTR for fast access; it connects well from Wan Chai, making Option A feasible if you want to attempt it.

In summary, the most relaxed fit for a 2-3 hour visit would be at the end of Option C (Cheung Chau) or Option A if you don't mind a longer day. Options B and D are likely too time-consuming to combine effectively.
