Tamsui is a charming coastal city near Taipei, Taiwan, famous for its historical atmosphere and beautiful sunsets. It's a great place to visit for a half-day or full-day trip.

🚶 One-day Danshui travel course (recommended route)

Depart from Taipei → Arrive at Danshui MRT Station
Take the Red Line (Danshui-Xinyi Line) from Taipei Main Station (MRT) → Approximately 40-50 minutes
Walk along Danshui Old Street (淡水老街)
Taste traditional snacks & street food (grilled squid, ageage, peanut ice cream, etc.)
Shopping for souvenirs
Fort San Domingo (紅毛城)
A 17th-century Dutch fortress, a representative historical site in Danshui
Recommended if you are interested in Taiwan's colonial history

✅ Afternoon
Jinli University (真理大學) & Yuyuan Hospital (滬尾偕醫館)
A Christian university with beautiful Western-style architecture
Yuyuan Hospital is the first Western-style hospital in Taiwan and a registered cultural property
Walk along the Danshui River
Rent a bicycle and ride along the river
Street performances, shops Sightseeing
Warren Matou famous photo spot
Sunset spot! Recommended to go at sunset

✅ Dinner
Dinner at a local seafood restaurant or night market
Seafood, Danshui specialty ageage (fried tofu), fish cake soup, etc.
Take the MRT back to Taipei
