Marriott Lakeshore Reserve location

Hi, still deciding where to stay this summer-we are going to be on sight at Universal for a few days, but then will move off sight to do Seaworld. I am leaning towards Cypress Harbor, as it gets better reviews than the HGVC at Seaworld. We stayed at Cypress Harbor years ago, and enjoyed it, seems to continue to get good reviews. Then I looked at Lakeshore Reserve-never stayed there, which would be nice (something new). How is the drive from the resort to Seawordl? Also, I know Disney Springs is further away, but how long to get to Disney Springs from this area?

If anyone has stayed at both of these resorts, I would love to know your opinions of how they compare-thanks everyone!!

Marriott Lakeshore Reserve is a newer Vacation Club property located in Orlando near the intersection of Florida’s 417 and 528 toll roads. It offers modern villas and amenities similar to Cypress Harbour, with a focus on spacious units, pools, and outdoor recreation. Its location provides good access to various Orlando attractions, but distance and traffic can affect travel times.

Drive times and location:

  • To SeaWorld Orlando: Approximately 15–20 minutes by car under normal traffic conditions. The resort is north of the major tourist corridor, so you avoid some congestion on International Drive and near the parks.
  • To Disney Springs: Roughly 30–35 minutes by car. This can vary depending on traffic, especially during peak summer times and weekends.
  • To Universal Orlando: Around 15–20 minutes, making it convenient for your first few days on-site at the Universal parks.

Comparison with Cypress Harbour:

  • Resort feel: Lakeshore Reserve is newer, so units and amenities are more modern and may appeal to guests seeking a fresh property. Cypress Harbour has been around longer but has established charm and proven reviews.
  • Location: Cypress Harbour is slightly closer to the main Universal and SeaWorld areas, but Lakeshore Reserve offers a quieter, less congested location while still being within reasonable driving distance.
  • Vibe and amenities: Both resorts offer pools, hot tubs, playgrounds, and family-friendly activities. Lakeshore Reserve may have more contemporary design elements, while Cypress Harbour is more classic Disney Vacation Club style.
  • Traffic considerations: Lakeshore Reserve’s location means a slightly longer drive to Disney Springs and Disney parks compared to Cypress Harbour, but it can feel less hectic and easier to navigate for daily trips.

Overall, both resorts are excellent choices. If you value a new, modern property and don’t mind slightly longer drives to Disney, Lakeshore Reserve is a great pick. If you prefer slightly shorter drives and the familiar charm of a tried-and-true property, Cypress Harbour remains a solid option.
