Disney World
We bought the unlimited memory maker photo pass for Disneyworld. Does anyone know how it works so that we can make sure that we get all of our pictures. Do we just make sure that we have our phone with us with bluetooth enabled? We do not plan on buying the Disney Magic watch band. When I clicked on our "passes" on the website, the memory maker purchase is there, but not when I click on passes on the app. Does it matter? Thanks.
The Disney Memory Maker (unlimited photo pass) is designed to capture all your ride photos, character photos, and other professional photos taken throughout the parks. Here’s how it works and what you need to know to ensure you get all your pictures:
Linking Photos to Your Account
- Memory Maker photos are automatically linked to your Disney account. When you buy the unlimited Memory Maker, it is associated with your park tickets or MagicBand if you have one.
- You do not need to have the MagicBand to collect photos; you can use the QR codes provided at the ride or photo locations, or the barcode on your park tickets.
- Ensure that your Disney account is set up and that your tickets are linked to it. This is crucial for the Memory Maker to function correctly.
Using the App
- Sometimes the Memory Maker purchase may show on the Disney website but not in the app under “passes.” This is not uncommon; as long as it appears in your account purchase history or under “My Plans,” it is active.
- To be safe, log in to the app and verify that your tickets or MagicBands are associated with your Disney account. When you scan your ticket or QR code at ride photos or character photos, the images will upload to your account regardless of whether the app explicitly lists Memory Maker.
Collecting Photos
- For ride photos: Just scan your ticket barcode at the end of each ride photo station.
- For character and photographer photos: When the photographer takes your photo, they will scan your ticket QR code or MagicBand (if you have one) to link the photo to your account. No extra action is required on your part other than showing your code.
- Bluetooth is not required for Memory Maker to function. It is only needed if you plan to use certain app features like automatically syncing photos to your phone through the app, but all photos are stored in your Disney account regardless.
Tips to Ensure You Get All Photos
- Keep your park tickets handy for scanning at photo locations.
- Verify before leaving each attraction or photo session that your ticket has been scanned correctly.
- Check your Disney account after each day to confirm that photos have uploaded. Sometimes there is a slight delay.
- If using a MagicBand, ensure it is linked to the correct account. If not, use your park ticket QR code.
In summary, you do not need the MagicBand, and Bluetooth is not required. The key is to ensure your tickets are linked to your Disney account and to scan the tickets/QR codes at photo locations. The fact that the Memory Maker does not show under passes in the app is not a problem as long as it appears in your account purchase history and is linked to your tickets.
