Restaurants

Looking for good fish restaurant I’ve heard The Oar House and the fish house are good. Preference? Any other recommendations ? Thank you!

Pensacola offers several excellent seafood restaurants, and both The Oar House and The Fish House are highly recommended for their fresh fish dishes and great ambiance. Here’s a breakdown of those two as well as a few additional recommendations to consider:

The Oar House: Known for its relaxed atmosphere and beautiful views, The Oar House is a local favorite. It's located along the water, offering great outdoor seating where you can enjoy a casual meal while watching boats pass by. The menu features a variety of seafood dishes, with standout options like blackened fish, shrimp, and fried seafood platters. If you're in the mood for a drink, their outdoor bar area is also a nice spot to relax.

The Fish House: Another Pensacola gem, The Fish House is famous for its wide variety of fresh seafood and great waterfront views. Located near the downtown area on the Pensacola Bay, it's a bit more upscale than The Oar House but still offers a comfortable, casual vibe. Their seafood dishes, including grilled fish and seafood pastas, are consistently praised. The Fish House is also known for its delicious "Grits a Ya Ya" dish, a fan favorite.

  • Joe Patti's Seafood Market – While not a sit-down restaurant, this seafood market is a must-visit for anyone in the area. It’s the place locals go for fresh fish and other seafood. You can buy raw seafood to cook yourself, or they also have a small deli where you can enjoy prepared meals. It’s a great stop if you’re looking to take some fresh fish home.
  • Crabs We Got 'Em – Located on Pensacola Beach, this casual seafood joint offers some of the freshest and most delicious seafood in the area. The crab legs and the seafood baskets are popular choices, but they also serve great fish sandwiches and fried seafood. It’s a relaxed, no-frills spot with a great view of the water.
  • The Grand Marlin – This upscale seafood restaurant is located on Pensacola Beach, offering a sophisticated menu with local seafood dishes. The Grand Marlin features dishes like seared scallops, grilled grouper, and fresh oysters. It has a beautiful waterfront view, making it a great spot for a special night out.
  • Fish and Oyster Bar – A more casual option, this spot offers great seafood in a cozy, beachy atmosphere. Their menu is centered around fresh, local fish and oysters, and they are known for having excellent seafood tacos and fried seafood dishes.

In addition to these, Pensacola has a number of waterfront dining options, offering not just great seafood but also beautiful views of the water. Whether you’re in the mood for a casual meal or a more upscale dining experience, Pensacola has plenty to satisfy your seafood cravings.
