Enterprise car rental and Port Miami

We are taking a cruise on Royal Caribbean and will have an Enterprise car rental that we need to drop off the day of the cruise. I haven't been able to get a consistent answer when I call Enterprise. I'm told they don't have transportation from any Enterprise rental location to Port Miami. Any suggestions on the best way to get to Port Miami from Enterprise and which Enterprise location is closest to Port Miami?

Dropping off a rental car at Enterprise and getting to Port Miami for your Royal Caribbean cruise is a common question, and it’s important to plan ahead because Enterprise locations generally do not provide direct shuttles to the port.

The closest Enterprise location to Port Miami is typically the one on 30th Street in Miami, near the MacArthur Causeway, which connects directly to the port area. However, it’s best to confirm exact addresses and availability with Enterprise because shuttle service is usually not offered from rental offices to cruise terminals.

Here are some practical options to consider:

  • Uber or Lyft: This is often the easiest and fastest solution. Miami is heavily serviced by rideshares, and from Enterprise drop-off locations near downtown or the airport, you can get to Port Miami in 10–20 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure to allow extra time during peak cruise days.
  • Taxi: Traditional taxis are available at most Enterprise locations, but rideshare apps may be cheaper and more convenient.
  • Enterprise airport drop-off: If you rented from Miami International Airport, Enterprise can drop you off at the airport location, and from there, you can take a shuttle or rideshare to the port. Some hotels also offer private shuttle services if you book in advance.
  • Parking at Port Miami: If you prefer, you can check whether Enterprise will allow a one-way rental return at Port Miami directly. Some cruise passengers arrange this through major agencies, but availability is limited.

Additional tips:

  • Plan for traffic delays, especially in the morning or on weekends when cruise ships depart.
  • Allow at least 30–45 minutes buffer for transportation after your car drop-off.
  • Confirm your Enterprise rental agreement for one-way drop-off fees if returning at a location different from your pickup point.

In summary, the most reliable approach is to drop off the Enterprise car at the nearest downtown or airport location and take an Uber, Lyft, or taxi to Port Miami. There is no guaranteed direct shuttle from Enterprise to the port, so pre-planning rideshare or taxi options is recommended.
