WDW MK trying to decide between premium experiences

I happened to find openings for Be Our Guest and Post-Party Fireworks dessert party when I’m there this Thursday. I’m a big Beauty&Beast nostalgia girl and would love to see the castle but I’m taking my elderly mom and would love to have this firework viewing experience with her. Doing both is so pricey, I’m leaning toward dropping the BOG. Can hopefully get back there to do it another time. Any input appreciated! (The BOG time is 3:30 fyi)

Both the Be Our Guest (BOG) lunch and the Post-Party Fireworks dessert party are amazing experiences at Disney World, but they offer very different kinds of enjoyment. Since you're traveling with your elderly mom and considering both her comfort and your desire for the Beauty and the Beast experience, here's some input to help with your decision.

Be Our Guest (BOG) Lunch: If you're a big fan of Beauty and the Beast, dining at Be Our Guest in the Magic Kingdom is a magical experience. The setting is absolutely stunning, and the ambiance inside the Beast's Castle is full of charm, offering an immersive experience for Beauty and the Beast fans. The 3:30 PM time is a bit early for dinner, but it could be a nice, relaxing meal before the evening's fireworks and might give you a chance to enjoy the park's quieter moments. However, keep in mind that BOG is a quick-service restaurant for lunch, and while the food is delicious, it may not feel as "special" compared to a full-service meal at some other premium experiences.

Post-Party Fireworks Dessert Party: This event is perfect for watching the fireworks in a relaxed, VIP-style setting. With a reserved spot for the fireworks show, you’ll get a great view without the crowds. Plus, the dessert offerings are amazing, and it’s a fun way to enjoy the evening with your mom in a less hectic, more comfortable environment. The post-party is perfect for those who want a premium, stress-free experience, especially for a special moment like fireworks. It could also be less strenuous than navigating the crowds to find a good spot for the fireworks.

  • Why Consider Dropping BOG: Since you’ll already be experiencing the Magic Kingdom and seeing the castle, you might be able to revisit BOG at another time when you can really soak in the atmosphere and enjoy the full experience. Plus, you’ll save money by focusing on the dessert party, which could be a more relaxing and enjoyable experience with your mom in the evening.
  • Why Keep BOG: If your heart is set on Beauty and the Beast nostalgia, then Be Our Guest is an unforgettable experience, and you’ll get to enjoy a more leisurely lunch in the castle. If you're okay with a busy schedule, doing both might feel like a once-in-a-lifetime treat, but it’s definitely a bit pricey for both.
  • Fireworks vs. BOG: Ultimately, if the fireworks experience with your mom is your priority, the dessert party might be a better choice. It's something that will create special memories for both of you without having to deal with the hassle of securing a good viewing spot for the fireworks.

My suggestion would be to go for the Post-Party Fireworks Dessert Party, as it combines a special experience with comfort and ease, especially when traveling with an elderly loved one. You can always visit Be Our Guest on a future trip when you have more time to savor the full experience. Whatever you choose, you're sure to create lasting memories!
