Hi, coming to Sedona at the start of August. I know it will be VERY hot! Trying to work out if on a Sunday we have to get the shuttle to do the Birthing Cave Hike or we can drive to the Long Canyon Trailhead? It looks on the shuttle info page that the shuttle doesn't go to the Long Canyon Trailhead but I can't tell if it is possible to drive there or if the roads are shut? Any info would be great :)
Visiting Sedona in early August means it will be very hot, so planning your hike carefully is essential. Regarding the Birthing Cave Hike, the trail is accessed via the Long Canyon Trailhead. This area is within the Red Rock District, and parking and access rules are important to know.
The Sedona Shuttle system primarily serves popular trailheads and parking areas to reduce congestion and protect the environment. The Long Canyon Trailhead is not currently served by the shuttle, so you will need to reach it by car.
