Open Mics

Hello . Will b e iin FLagstaff next week or so with my family. I am a touring musician playing original Music...rock and roll. Although I have no gigs set up, I am curious if there are any weekly open mics? Ill also be bopping around Sedona and Cottonwood if anyone knows anything about those places! Thanks in advance!

Flagstaff has a lively local music scene with several venues that host weekly open mics, which can be great for touring musicians looking to share original material. Many of these events welcome solo artists, bands, and singer-songwriters of all genres.

In Flagstaff, some options include:

  • Beaver Street Brewery – They often host an open mic night once a week, typically on weekdays. The atmosphere is casual, and it draws a supportive crowd of locals.
  • Late for the Train Coffee Co. – Known for acoustic sets and weekly open mic nights. It’s an intimate setting ideal for original music.
  • The Orpheum Theater – Occasionally hosts open mic or showcase nights; check their schedule, as dates can vary.
  • Flagstaff House Coffee – Smaller coffee houses like this sometimes run casual open mic nights, often promoting local talent.

For Sedona and Cottonwood, there are fewer options, but there are still some spots worth checking:

  • Sound Bites Grill (Sedona) – While more known for live performances, they sometimes host open mic nights, especially on weekdays or in the off-season.
  • Grasshopper Coffee (Cottonwood) – A cozy cafe that occasionally runs acoustic nights where local musicians can perform.
  • Local breweries and bars – Many small breweries and bars in Cottonwood and Sedona offer casual open mic nights; calling ahead or checking their Facebook pages is the best way to confirm schedules.

Tips for performing at open mics in this area:

  • Arrive early to secure a good spot, especially in intimate venues.
  • Bring your own gear if possible, though most venues provide a basic PA and microphone.
  • Network with other local musicians; Flagstaff has a supportive community that often shares open mic info via social media.
  • Check online resources like local event listings, Facebook groups, or Meetup for up-to-date open mic schedules.

Overall, Flagstaff is your best bet for multiple weekly open mics, while Sedona and Cottonwood have more sporadic opportunities. Calling ahead is highly recommended to confirm nights and any specific requirements.
