Bubblegum Waters and Windy Views at Pink Lake

#holidayitinerary The Pink Lake at Port Gregory is such a fun and weird little stop. The color is super bright when the sun's out, like a giant strawberry milkshake. It's caused by some kind of algae and salt combo, and the shade changes depending on the time of day and weather. We went late morning and it was seriously glowing.
There’s no big tourist setup or anything, just a few spots to pull over and snap photos. You can walk right up to the edge, but don’t expect a swim, it’s more of a look-and-go kind of place. The wind was wild when we were there, so maybe bring a hat that won’t fly away.
Easy to add to your route if you’re driving between Kalbarri and Geraldton. There’s a small town nearby with a café and fuel if you need it. It’s a quick stop, but the color is so unreal it’s totally worth pulling over for. Just a fun, totally random Aussie highlight.
