Hotel nr LAX (one night only!)
We're in SoCal for a wedding, staying at the Westlake Inn. However, we have an early flight out of LAX, and so are planning to take one day to linger at the Inn with the happy newlyweds, then relocate to a hotel near LAX for our (very) early morning flight the following day.
Recommendations, please, for a hotel with good shuttle service (fr rental car agency, and also to LAX). We know the area is be noisy, we know the food will be "meh," but it's just one night. Any suggestions to identify the least unpleasant hotel will be very much appreciated. Seriously, just one night! Not our usual travel style!
For a one-night stay near LAX with a very early flight, your priorities should be convenience, reliable shuttle service, and reasonable comfort rather than luxury. The area has many airport hotels, so picking one that is known for efficient shuttle service and easy access to rental car returns will make your morning much less stressful.
Here are some recommended options based on proximity to LAX, shuttle service, and guest feedback:
- Hampton Inn & Suites LAX – Very close to the airport with frequent shuttles to both LAX terminals and nearby rental car facilities. Rooms are simple but clean and quiet considering the airport location.
- Hyatt Regency Los Angeles International Airport – Offers a free 24-hour airport shuttle and is well-regarded for comfort and slightly more upscale rooms. It also has a restaurant and bar if you want a last meal on-site.
- Embassy Suites by Hilton LAX South – All-suite hotel with free airport shuttle and spacious rooms. Good option if you want a little more space for luggage and early breakfast options.
- Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles LAX/Century Boulevard – Reliable shuttle service and decent rooms. Often recommended for short airport stays because of proximity and consistency.
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Confirm the shuttle schedule in advance; some hotels operate a continuous shuttle, but others have specific intervals.
- Request a room on the far side from the main road or runway to minimize noise.
- If you need a rental car drop-off, make sure the hotel shuttle can accommodate stops at your rental car agency. Many hotels do, but it’s best to double-check when booking.
- Check if early check-in or late checkout is possible if you want to linger a bit in the room before the flight.
In short, for just one night, Hampton Inn, Hyatt Regency LAX, Embassy Suites, or Courtyard by Marriott are your best bets for convenience, shuttle access, and a relatively pleasant stay near LAX.
